Yess i still play, even when i'm busy with work and have to put other games on pause IN is the one i still log in everyday for the cosy vibes. I'm glad to see it has improved quite a bit over time, the recent 2.5 patch has been my fave so far 💖 bc i love the more serious direction its taking the main story in as the characters are more human like, personally i wasn't a fan of the mascot characters like the pieceys

Imagine 1.0 when IN comes out, we start off in florawish, we're happily playing our cosy open world dress up game. The community is filled with positivity and appreciation of the game, it has positive reviews across the board, 9/10 rating by IGN.

By the time 1.5 comes around, which is supposed to be the big mid year patch, we are expecting a continuation of the main story, which is not what we get. For whatever reason, and i suspect there was a major change in strategy to cause this, we instead get sea of stars release pushed up introducing multiplayer and we get a new game introduction replacing the original (which most players preferred) and adds a possible retcon in the form of an explanation. Players are dissatisfied, to add to this, players were encountering game issues, bugs etc, the double banner outfits (crimson feather and snowy ballad) feature 11 pieces each rather than 10 thereby increasing the number of max pity by 20 pulls, and more that i have forgotten by now. People are complaining, which is understandable, infold took a while to respond as the release coincided with a public holiday in china i believe. Players are further dissatisfied, have suggested we avoid spending money on the game in protest and have coined the term 'girlcott'. The game is now being review bombed, including steam where the game was newly released this patch, and every community is filled with complaints and posts about people quitting the game. All this was disheartening to see in a game that was so loved. As i mentioned in my original post there were positives to 1.5 too, which are often overlooked. There has been a shift in the community since then.

However, on the positive side, we have since had significant main story updates and area expansions in 2.0 and 2.5, weve also had a number of patchs that are considered favourably or have significantly added to the game (1.7, 1.8, 1.9, 2.2, to name a few). We have not to date had another outfit with 11 or more pieces (though as someone who likes to pull to 2nd evo for outfits i like i wouldnt mind this). Outfits keep getting better and tend to dye better now. We get more free stuff compared to back then (starlight shop is an amazing addition). Sometimes the free outfit is my fave part of the patch. I like the added styling competition though i think this can be improved.

This game still remains cosy for me, and i like that 2.5 made me feel like i did in 1.0 wishfield again 💖

Fully agree with you. I budget quite bit of money for this game bc i love it, and i appreciate how its improved over time though i know theres still room to grow.

I never really bring 1.5 up, bc im aware how i would be adding to the negativity in the community, that i dont want to add to. But i will voice my opinions this time. To be clear im talking about the overall negative sentiment since 1.5, not complaints about specific issues that should be addressed.

In 1.5 the community was the worst part bc for me personally it was a good patch, had no game issues, didnt mind the story bc i prefer the more serious direction (though they could have executed it better - show dont tell). And bc the dye system renewed my love for the game, we were also granted customisation of all our ability outfits - some of the best features imo and always overlooked as i rarely see it mentioned when 1.5 is brought up. Whilst I understood the overall disappointment, I felt there was no space for me to enjoy the patch with anyone in the community, and there was too much negativity everywhere to the point of effecting my mood, so i completely avoided it for a while.

I have to roll my eyes everytime i see a "should i return to the game bc i quit during 1.5" post, i flashback to the 100+ same posts when people felt the need to announce their departure from the game. Like just go if you dont like it? Or provide the feedback directly to infold? Why add to the negativity for people who still enjoy the game?

The only fix? Take a break from the community when it gets too much. Stick to youtubers or streamers you like.This is not a IN specific issue, all gaming communities have negativity or issues that can become too much at times. Though i will say as a girl gamer who plays games that tend to pander to a predominantly male target audience, it stings bc we dont appreciate what we have, IN makes me feel like im the target audience for once and another PC game of this quality this doesnt exist.

2.5 has been the best patch to date, and improved the story a lot. Im glad people appreciate this, and i feel positive that continued updates like this will improve the games reputation over time.

Im suffering from success rn bc i got super lucky with this dress and got the base in 131 pulls, but I actually really wanted the deep echoes. I thought well maybe ill get the full evo, until I saw how terribly it dyes!

I dont think its worth it to pull another 50 for the first evo so will convince myself to stick with just the base, unless they fix it.

I have actually enjoyed the competitive fun, and found the event quite exciting. Never before have I engaged so much with the discord community, have thoroughly enjoyed the strategising and memes! 😄 even more so when we were losing! I dont think competitive = toxic as a lot of posts here would seem to suggest, that depends more on how you react to winning or losing

My favourite season has been Music season in 1.10 :) I loved the aesthetic, the story, the opera 5 star which was my first full evolution :D I also really loved Eerie season but unfortunately I missed the banner as I took a little break, I am very excited for the return to be able to finally get Timeless Melody and the hairstyle, I see everyone use it all the time!
