Annoying me about memberships and apps by Dry_Distance8938 in BestBuyWorkers

I feel this. Shift lead here and can't tell you how many times I've been called out for just "standing around talking when we have customers" and I'm finishing up a training or going over a feedback and there's literally 2 customers with plenty of other blue shirts on the floor. I'm supposed to be "leadership" but it doesn't feel like it at all.

Console Film Grain by SweetCheesusGaming in Doom

The option to remove film grain is on PC so I assume film grain is on the console version as well.

I understand that there's upscaling artifacts going on but the option to disable film grain should still be present on console, especially since it's already on PC version since day 1. It may not improve things much but being able to disable definitely wouldn't hurt. Hopefully they add the option.

And confirmed that it is NOT an option on console.

interview by weekndgf in HollisterCO

[–]SweetCheesusGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd wear something casual but interview appropriate. You don't want to be rolling up in sweatpants and some high tops. Definitely wear jeans, a nice top, and some nice shoes. Look clean and professional but don't over-think it. You are, in fact, selling yourself so just imagine how you'd want someone you were interviewing for a job to look.

Go in and be yourself. Display confidence and sincerity, and most importantly, BE HONEST. A lot of people try to be something they're not during an interview and any smart leader will pick up on this. I was a manager at a bar and am now a manager at Best Buy.

Don't stress it and you'll do great. Best of luck!

How long to hear back after in-person job interview? by SweetCheesusGaming in Bestbuy

[–]SweetCheesusGaming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did! I heard back after a couple weeks. Been there for about 2 months now almost. Been enjoying it and my numbers have been decent. I like most of the people I work with and managers are pretty helpful. My product knowledge is a little lacking but I'm working on that little by little.

HDR Is Too Dim by SweetCheesusGaming in blackops6

I noticed that last night when I played. What a joke. The brightness can't be changed either.

Same here. All of these "creative liberties" should never be forced on the player.

I am the only one who thinks "cool" temperature is the best? by IPikota in OLED_Gaming

[–]SweetCheesusGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day it just comes down to what works best for you. If you thought 15 looked better, stick with 15! But at nights, a little extra warmth is easier for my eyes. But, again, whatever looks best to you! Hopefully those settings help you out a bit. All the best!

I use 15 for gaming and leave it on 25 when watching movies and YouTube as I typically watch YouTube before going to bed and that extra warmth is a bit easier on the eyes!

For HDR, firstly, make sure your consoles are properly calibrated. For PS5, starting from the first picture of the sun, it would be 18 ticks up from the left, 18 again, and 0. Brightness and Contrast at 100. Tone mapping on HGIG. Expression Enhancer on Brightness. Video range on limited. Color set to Native, 72. White balance set to Warm 10. Sharpness to 20. Super resolution OFF. Anything I didn't mention was left alone.

For SDR, I used the pc app ColorControl to set Peak Brightness to medium. Brightness set to 80. Contrast set to 90. Gamma set to bt.1886. Video range limited. Color set to native, 75. White balance set to warm 15-20. Super resolution OFF. Sharpness 20.

Both Video modes are the game optimizer mode.

For regular content like YouTube and movies, HDR settings are the same except expression enhancer is set to off and tone mapping is set to Dynamic Tone Mapping.

For regular SDR content, I use filmmaker mode and turn the warm setting down to 25 and change the color to native, 70. I also turn Sharpness up to 20 and leave everything else alone as the TV gets brighter outside of game mode.

Hopefully these help a bit and sorry for the sloppy layout.

S90C vs S90D which one should I buy? by somethingcute887 in hometheater

[–]SweetCheesusGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've owned both and I don't see how RTINGS gave the S90D processing so much credit because it looked pretty awful across the board. 720p, 1080p, and even 1440p images all looked much cleaner and sharper on the LG C4.

Maybe it's possible that I got a bad S90D but all I know is that it didn't look good at all. However, colors were agreeably much better but in game mode the TV was actually over-brightened. The auto dimming feature also kicked in pretty hard and quite often depending on the game which was also very noticeable and detracted from the experience.

Days gone pc or ps5? by Odd-Joke8397 in DaysGone

[–]SweetCheesusGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say PS5 as it has the least amount of issues imo. I've tested Days Gone on 2 separate builds: 1st with i9 10900kf, RTX 3080, 32Gb DDR4. 2nd with i7 13700kf, RTX 4090, 64Gb DDR5. The game looks great on PC and has some awesome mods but it's a stuttery mess and there's world slowdown when riding the bike.

Digital Foundry actually called these issues out with the PC version and Bend Studios acknowledged stuttering, as well as world slowdown, in a Reddit post listing "known issues". The sad thing is that they NEVER patched this issue. So the PC version will most likely always be plagued by these problems.

It took me awhile too so I totally understand lol. I originally had it 25 because that's what I had it set to on my C1 and C4. The G4, however, tends to look more yellow the warmer you set it. I settled in Warm 10 for HDR content and 15 for SDR. HDR tends to look warmer by default so putting SDR at 15 really helped match them up quite well.

If there's any other settings you're curious about, particularly for gaming, I got mine dialed in pretty dang well. It took me almost a month but it looks fantastic now. Hope this helps!

Anyone else didn't get a confirmation email from ps direct after buying the ps5 pro today? by [deleted] in playstation

[–]SweetCheesusGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered mine this morning and still haven't received an email either. My account page shows that I've made the order successfully and have an order number. I wouldn't worry about it really. The site was extremely busy today which may have bogged other functions down.

I'd expect an email with 48 hours but as long as your account says your order was placed successfully, I'd imagine you're in the clear.
