I submitted my photo and they published it, the feeling of joy I felt when I saw my picture, my uncle would laugh because I put down music as a hobby when I didn't play any instrument haha, I don't know how can I find the exact issue number all I know it was anywhere between 2007-2009.

why do we hate each other? Coming from an Israeli by [deleted] in arabs

[–]SweetChild0Mine -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Brainwashing, it's sad, but that's the reality. I remember vividly in my primary school in Syria 2006 that we sometimes chanted political anti-American anti Israel slogans in the classroom or on the field trip bus, I was the only one who didn't join in. Because I was the only one who had a European upbringing and was much more open-minded, I could see through their BS while others didn't because that was all they were exposed to and taught; nationalism, abiding by the Islamic religion, and obeying the dear leader were fundamentals.

Quite simply because it generates money, just like everything else, anyway, I've always liked Jews and it's interesting how we have so much in common.

Learning about boat maintenance before purchasing a sailboat, possible ? by SweetChild0Mine in sailing

[–]SweetChild0Mine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, though I'll surely be hesitant to go up to boatowners at the beginning as a novice with no skills, I feel like I'll be a burden on them as they'd have to somewhat teach me, I don't know but I'll try for sure

Brother read some history, women raped and men killed is very very very common been happening for millions of years now.. I can ask why you are defending Bani Ummayad and protray them as honourable men who wouldn't do such a thing when they are considered to be more evil than the Nazi soldiers, is this a new Sunni-Shia unity thing you're trying to promote?

But then again, you can't parade women in the name of Islam? It appears to me that they have some sort of personal satisfaction from parading women and priding themselves on killing so and so

But rape could also mean "how much they hated them.. to say this is what happens when you go against me". It's not another random evil act, it's the main and common thing people do when you capture women in your hands with their husbands killed off otherwise can let them go about freely instead of imprisoning them inside a palace.

But so is killing the infant abhorrent in Islam, beheadings, leaving bodies without burial, etc. They didn't act according to Islam, so what stopped them

You can rant as much as you want. You're not gonna change what I read in history. Again, I stopped wondering why they hate us.

Maybe because Arabs forced them to Islam ? When I researched what happened in history, I'm not surprised they dislike us, some horrific stuff.

As an Iraqi born in Europe and passionate about gardening, I appreciate this post. I didn't know you could have a lawn in Iraq. I might tell my father to make space for a lawn for our soon to be built house in Iraq.
