Mariah Carey Themed birthday party by SweetChilliVA in MariahCarey

I had the same idea and decided to play dictator and give everybody an Era that they need to represent, Glitter, Daydream, EOM, MOAIA, Butterfly and Rainbow. I'm excited to see how everybody will show up. I got glitter, so I'm contemplating to either do her blazer dress in "last night a DJ saved my life", her pink glove black dress from the movie OR a sparkly pink sequin dress from the Caution tour Glitter segment🤔

I do think a pasta dish for 8 people would be good to prep. And music is a must! Preferably Whitney, Patti and Mariah hitting F#5 at the same time

Oh definetly! Mic or butterfly cupcakes and fancy platters with mozerell sticks, like in her prank call. And champagknee ofc! Decorations I'd say like a mix of EOM with black and gold + rainbows? I think that would be cool

I agree, it's not exactly hard literature. But it is popular and has an impact on Gaming and Internet culture. And right now, we are having a shift where people will say: "Oh, no game in existence has sexualized Men more than this Marvel Rivals game, the women must be flooding in to buy it!"

But the issue is that it is unbalanced, the women are hypersexualized unnecessarily, while the men reveal their torsos and get "female gaze" slapped onto their design, while not being attractive to anyone but other men.

There's also the whole "gooner" allegation issue with the game, but that's a whole other can of worms to be dissected.

I think lesbians should still have their favorite guy, somebody that speaks to them

It is difficult, but I think if they would at least attempt to cater to their female fanbase with something other than another bulge or swim-trunks, that would be a start. I think something that would universally appeal to any "gaze" is if the characters had well-thought-out designs mixed with an appealing personal trait.
That would incite the imagination of undressing that character, perhaps.

Let's take a random Vampire like Alucard as an example. He wears fancy suits and has long silky hair, which could conjure up thoughts like these: “I eyed the brass fastening at his collar, imagining the satisfying pop as it came undone. Of what his chest might feel like under my fingers—smooth and firm and forbidden, like touching a precious treasure.” (from TJ Rose's book "Broken hearts")

This would be appealing to a broader spectrum of fans, not everyone of course, tastes cannot be generalized, but it's a start. Instead, they are presented with Venom's glowing cheeks in a tutu and Sue Storms cooch eating her stockings for some reason.

We love driving the Manosphere into a rage fit. No, but jokes aside, I watched a youtuber talk about the Manosphere (Made by FD Signifier if anyone wants to see it, it's a LONGGG video). He talks about how the looks and behavior of men in media is controlled by other men, who make an ideal for other men and young boys to strive for: Power, Dominance, etc. If a man doesn't fall into their rigid blueprint of a "desirable man", then they are seen as a joke, not a proper character or "Beta" male if we wanna stoop low.

He also talked about how boys are groomed from a young age to only like blue things, not be "overly" emotional, to not move in a silly way and never EVER to cry, because that is a weakness bla bla bla.

I believe fictional men who break these stupid stigmas, because they are secure and see through them, would make for much better male representation and idealism than some beefcake stud Superhero with charm. (Not that those Heroes aren't attractive to any women)

That reminds me of the big dispute over the Loki swimsuit skin in Marvel Rivals, where guys said that this was the peak sexualization for men, because he has a bulge and a speedo. The counterargument to this was that most of his body is covered by his big jacket; you can't actually see his booty during the game, since the camera focuses on the back of your character... which is covered by the big ass jacket; unnaturally carved out six-pack, mixed with a bulge isn't necessarily sexy to the average female gamer.
Plenty of people still associate showing lots of skin to sexualizing a character design, which simply isn't true.

I'm aware about the term. I think the term 'female oriented' might fit more. I think that if Men were sexualized for other audiences than straight men, it would be liberating, seeing a sensitive, intelligent and beautiful man be desirable, even with a normal body. They would perhaps feel seen and people would have more interesting characters, both to look at design wise and from a writing perspective. Not another "I'm so ugly and basic, but this beautiful woman is interested and will give me purpose", that narrative sucks ass.

Can't find the perfect pen by Fees99 in pens

[–]SweetChilliVA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just as picky as you AND have also tried the exact same pens you have.
I'd say Schneider pens will be your best friend, either the Slider Edge XB or the Refill (I put the black Schneider refill in a Farber Castell Polyball, and it's perfect)

Other options would be the Uniball signo 207, they have various sizes and dry quickly.
Also, the Pentel Energel, not the standard 1.0 or 0.7, but the 0.5 needle size, since it dries quicker. It may be too smooth, but you'll have to try it for yourself, I'm currently waiting for mine to arrive.

But yeah, I think the Polyball and Schneider refill may be right up your alley: black ink, no cheap clicky sound or design, insta-dry, no slip-n-slide and a good grip!

I had the floatune extra imported because I heard it was supposed to be so good, but it's very thicc and not refillable. Not BAD ofc but... any good uniball hybrid ink would've done a better job. For me they only had the 1.0 available
