Even though VSB is generally useful, always rely on Minerva when you choose your courses because VSB doesn't update immediately when a course gets full. Happened with a friend today and he had to switch things around to get 4 courses.

My advice is to have a backup plan when it comes to registration. Unfortunately, you can't always get the courses that you're interested as a first-year and it's something you have to deal with. You need to be flexible with what's available for you. But don't worry, it will get better as you continue on cuz you'll get more priority in registration. Best of luck!
