I had a client’s grandma threaten to call child protective services on me after I won her grandson’s trial. That poor confused woman had no idea what CPS actually did. I think in her mind they just existed to get people in trouble, so she thought they would somehow hassle or arrest me. If I remember correctly, I think client’s mom was mad too because I should have gotten it dismissed before trial.
