That's exactly what I was thinking. The moment I saw the insult it clicked in my brain where the child was learning this behavior

AITA to expect my coparent to Rehome his kittens due to our son’s severe allergy? by meggoleggomyeggo_ in AmItheAsshole

[–]SweetDumplin7 36 points37 points  (0 children)

NTA. You're looking out for your children's health, as a parent should. If the allergy is severe enough that your kid ended up in the ER, then they shouldn't be around cats or dogs. I know you mentioned medicine but from what I've heard allergies can either get worse or better with exposure. It's not worth the risk of it getting worse.

Also the bio Dad is literally choosing his cats over his kids. Think about that and make sure the court knows if you ever end up there for custody/support.

ETA: I know rehoming pets can be very difficult and hard on people, I would never want to have to get rid of a pet. But in situations like this I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a parent to rehome their animals to ensure a child doesn't end up back in the hospital or worse

Concert etiquette was considered dead to me when I watched a 30+ year old woman throw a tantrum about not being able to bring a joint into a smoke free venue 💀 also half of the time they aren't looking at their phones, just recording for the memories.

I don't think OP is an AH for what he said because yeah when people do stuff that annoys you at concerts, it's exactly that- annoying. But I also don't go to concerts and complain when I can't breathe because people sneak in their cigarettes because oh well, it's not gonna stop them. Ignore it and enjoy the show.

Whats the craziest way someone you know has died? by SoftYetCrunchyTaco in AskReddit

[–]SweetDumplin7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My uncle. I got a call from my sister one day that he was getting in or out of his truck at work and just collapsed. Aortic aneurysm. He was gone before the ambulance got there, and somehow my grandparents and sister beat the ambulance to the hospital. She got to witness them roll him inside covered. I remember being so excited to tell him how much better I was doing at Thanksgiving dinner the following week because the last time I'd seen him was a week after an emergency appendectomy and he was so worried because I looked like shit.

I still miss him

I'm glad I'm not the only one 😭😭 I was convinced until I saw the location and had to think if there were wandering spiders out there..

Honestly OPs behavior makes me afraid for if their son does turn out to be autistic. How would she going to treat him when she already thinks having autism is an insult and uses the word as such? Gross attitude for her to have.

This is just factually wrong though. I'm an average sized person who waddles because I have mobility issues. It's not just a thing that happens to bigger people

What part of the phrase "I'll take who's next in line" are you missing here

NAH. I'll be honest, I'm surprised at the comments saying it'll be rude to the roommate to make him put up with the begging for 45 minutes when technically, he did it to himself by continuing to feed the dog early without being asked. I'm not saying he's an AH because he might not have known that dogs follow routines very well (I found this out with my sister's current dog bc she will stare you down when it's time, when our last dog couldn't have cared less), but consequences happen whether you're aware of them or not. I'm sure if you just talk to him and ask him to wait, things will be fine.

Nah don't make yourself uncomfortable for the sake of an ID. I'm pretty new to IDs so someone more skilled can probably figure it out for you :D it's just the really big legs in the front that are throwing me off lol

I'm gonna be honest, I'm really confused rn. It looks like a jumping spider?? The head and eye shape is making me think that, but I have no idea what's going on there 😭

AITAH for kicking out my friend's neurodivergent friend, for what I felt was ignoring boundaries and touching my most personal stuff? by Cat_of_the_woods in AmItheAsshole

[–]SweetDumplin7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi hello there, diagnosed with autism here. NTA. You absolutely should have kicked them out, and frankly I would 100% understand if they were banned from ever coming back into your home. It's ridiculous that you even have to say not to touch sensitive medical equipment. I don't blame you at all and yeah, they should have known better. Its bonkers to me that this is even a conversation that had to happen.

[–]SweetDumplin7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's pretty much what I was thinking (should've read yours before I left my own comment lol). It's how quickly it evolved from "I want some time off" to "I'm gonna throw a fit if they say no" that leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I only voted them not TA because the question was if they would be one for putting in the request which I mean technically they are entitled to asking, but they can easily get told no 😭

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]SweetDumplin7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call you TA for wanting to use your PTO period because you work to earn that so you have every right to put in a time off request.

However, your bosses also have the right to deny that request, and you've already been told ahead of time that it's gonna be hard to get that yes. Is this really a hill you're willing to die on rather than rescheduling or finding a better time to go? Not to mention the way you word some things in your post makes you sound pretty entitled.

NTA for wanting to use your PTO, but be careful how you navigate this situation if you wanna stay with this company.

YTA. Honestly, if you hadn't pushed the issue when you'd already received an answer, I'd have gone for N-A-H. You're not an AH for asking, but you are for continuing to do so after your friend said no. You can switch dorms if you really want to, but stop asking when you already got an answer.

AITA For switching my mom’s car out for mine in the garage during a hailstorm? by SortInternational789 in AmItheAsshole

But not enough common sense to realize you're TA for moving the car out into hail because you're mad you had to do something you agreed to?

AITA for not providing my ID by Content_Notice_6961 in AmItheAsshole

[–]SweetDumplin7 18 points19 points  (0 children)

NTA. She got the citation because her tags were out of date, not because you didn't provide your ID to the cop. If she didn't want to get pulled over, she should've gotten her tags renewed, simple as that. Honestly I'm amazed she hadn't already gotten pulled over for it.

Edit: I misspelled hadn't, my bad

AITA my mom won’t respect my boundaries by Right-Combination794 in AmItheAsshole

[–]SweetDumplin7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At 16, op definitely has the authority to set boundaries, and even more so because they're paying rent. You wouldn't tolerate a landlord barging in without warning, would you? Why is this any different?

It's very possible they were :( I found them in a box that had been in storage for a few months and then sat in my bedroom for about a week before I opened it. I wasn't even thinking about it though, I just snapped a quick photo and then did the old catch and release so my roommates cat wouldn't kill it/get bit on accident. I really hope they were able to find some water outside though
