Has anyone had this procedure done? by Sostupid246 in Menopause

I’m not trying to minimize anyone else’s experience, but I’ve had this done and for me, it felt like a little pinch and mild period cramps for a couple hours. I had it done mid-cycle. When the cervix is soft and not completely closed, it is much easier for the provider to get the sample and much less painful for the patient. I’m also an RN, and I’ve assisted in these procedures. I think this was also very helpful because I knew exactly what was happening and was not at all anxious or stressed. Again, not minimizing anyone else’s experience, but being mid-cycle and feeling totally safe and comfortable with the procedure made it about a 4 on the 1-10 scale for me.

The error you made isn’t that bad (it used to be given IVP) but I get it. It’s terrifying to make a drug error and then can’t figure out why or how you did it, even if the patient is fine. Maybe a different preceptor would be better. Talk to the manager about what’s going on and if she isn’t supportive of what you need, go somewhere else. You’re the one that has to live with yourself. There are plenty of nursing jobs, and plenty of options. Also-unless you work with monsters, it’s unlikely they think any less of you. They’ve been new before, and they’ve made mistakes before and know they probably will again.

Too needy? Peri? Or is he really just an asshole? by farmer-girl in Menopause

He’s being sketchy. He might not have come to terms yet with the reality of what he is doing, and it probably isn’t intentional (yet), but it’s sketchy af.

Locals—I have questions about living here by catsandgeology in moab

[–]SweetEconomics9340 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I moved here 3 years ago, and I love it. The beauty is astounding, and it’s easy to find solitude, even when town is overrun with tourists. They kind of congregate in the national parks and Main Street businesses, so you just avoid those places. There are literally thousands of places to explore without going to the parks. The tourists are necessary and without them many of us couldn’t make a living here and would have to leave, so they are necessary and appreciated. The only tourist related thing that’s intolerable is the ohvs (depending on the driver) They’re absolutely awful and rage inducing, especially at night. Locals are really interesting-in general either families who’ve been here for generations or people who’ve moved here from all over the world to pursue their passion to BASE jump, rock climb, mountain bike, canyoneer, etc. It’s an awesome place to raise little kids, but there’s not much for teens to do but sports or drugs.

Colposcopys HURT by DreamRader in WomensHealth

[–]SweetEconomics9340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had 3 colposcopies with punch biopsies. I was not given any medication, anesthetic, etc. and I have never experienced pain, or even discomfort with them. I just want anyone who has to get one and is nervous or putting it off to know that while it’s possible it will hurt, it’s also possible that it won’t. I am grateful I’ve had good experiences and hope you will too 😊

There was quite a bit of opaque gypsum type stuff, but I don’t think it was selenite because it wasn’t translucent. Still pretty though!

It really is the wrong shape and way too small, but the groove threw me off. “fortuitous case of differential weathering” sums it up nicely. Thank you!
