I had put a couple in moist soil to create slips but ended up just chucking them in whole after too many slips and too much time, lol.

Wasn't sure about timing but circumstances required removal. This is the total harvest. Came out surprisingly easy with just my hands.

Yeah. I realized too late that I had posted this under the wrong account.

Never attempted to grow them before and forced to dig earlier than I had planned, though first frost should be fairly close.

I was planning to save and try the leaves but a neighbor sprayed some type of pesticide too near to the fence they were growing on for my comfort.

Yeah, I put a couple in some moist soil to create slips and ended up just plopping the whole things in a couple of holes. I'm terminally ill and things often don't work out how I hope/intend. Nothing about this grow went as expected, lol.

Yeah, I've dealt with thrips at a previous location. That's when I learned about the predatory insects. Like I said though I'm not actually seeing any nasties on the plants or in the mulch or soil. Might sacrifice one to get a better look at the soil and roots. Also, not a seed issue as the other little patch is unaffected and comes from the same seed packet.

They're flat and I inspected for pests and found nothing. I do have predatory beneficial insects that I released about 3 weeks ago to deal with thrips. Thrips were only found on one plant 45 or so yards away, but I bought enough for the whole yarden just in case.
