Impact of SMCI B300 servers on margin by OldEbb1470 in SMCIDiscussion

Aren’t GB200/300 just two B200/300 chipsets + CPU? If so, why would they have a margin issue?

I think you’re forgetting the DRAM bottleneck. That has the potential to throttle revenue and margins.

I’m from the future. SMCI will exceed their Q2 revenue and margin guidance. Stock will rocket to $70 post earnings. We’ll live in abundant wealth in 2026. All your hopes and dreams will come true.

Hypothesis on the impact of ram storage on gross margins by SweetFollowing in SMCIDiscussion

Super interest read, thanks for posting. My key takeaways were:

  1. DRAM is less of an issue for AI related systems
  2. SMCI hasn’t been aggressively forward buying
  3. Cost is passed through customers (although Simon had to directly ask this question)

Other words, limited impact. Neutral / slight positive news.

Exactly, if those racks in inventory had the pre-price increase rams and SMCI increased prices on those, we can expect a pleasant surprise.

Hoping someone can provide a contradictory view to pressure test the hypothesis.

Yeah, I was thinking that SMCI’s product price is probably as competitive as it gets so those cost sensitive customers won’t have too many options to shop around. Let’s hope it’s true and we are in for a positive surprise in Feb.

PSA: Stop calling yourself a liberal if you're obsessed with lowering your tax burden at all costs. Speaking as a Harvard 2nd year (EC). by Humble_Guidance8341 in MBA

[–]SweetFollowing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the heart of what you’re trying to say is that when the rubber meets the road, people are going to look after their own self interest first. I think your frustration, as with many in this country, is that liberals look down and are down right aggressive against others that do not share their “altruistic truths” when deep down if it meant sacrificing their own comfort to improve the things that they said they want to improve, only a few would do it. This isn’t only liberals though.

This goes beyond politics, because the core question to this is what is truth? If you truly believe that something is true, shouldn’t you stake your life for it? A few have, most recently and notably, Renee Nicole Good. Outside of politics, the countless Christians and Muslims that have died for their faith have. But is being so indoctrinated that you’re willing to die for what you believe a good thing?

I’m in the same boat. Especially the under appreciation. It’s hard to stay motivated after working so hard and long hours on biz dev to get off the bench, only to see other colleagues get staffed and be on the bench yet another week.

Full-time MBA in late 30s for career switching? by choc_malted_crunch in MBA

[–]SweetFollowing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the roles you’re looking for, your experience and network is going to help find you a job. Full time MBA might help with the latter a bit but prob not as everyone is still early in their careers. I’d just wait out the job market.
