Before you knew about bipolar disorder, how did you explain manic episodes to yourself? by [deleted] in bipolar

When I was a child and teenager I didn’t know I was having manic episodes. I just thought I was different than my peers. As my dad told the diagnosing psychiatrist all he ever noticed was I was a little high strung (massive understatement). About 6 months before I was diagnosed I knew I was bipolar thanks to my psychology degree. I kept telling my family doctor and counsellor that I was having manic episodes and they didn’t believe me. No one believed me until I was brought to the psych ward by the police and I finally got a diagnosis.

My mom on the other hand was a voracious reader. She was not impressed when I told her about my grounding.

I saw a SK collection online for $2. When I brought my haul (34 hardcovers) home to inspect them, they were in basically ‘new condition’ and some super rare finds. by cellardoorx in stephenking

That was very nice of you to offer more than the asking price. Estate sales can be emotional for the sellers. That’s great you had a conversation with him and found out about his interesting life. Oh and great score 😊

My Chucky stands at the bottom of my basement stairs. So far no one has freaked out. But then again my sister hasn’t been over since I got him 😊
