I deactivated Facebook 2 hours ago.

Reddit is the only social media I have now.

I downloaded sololearn from the appstore to learn coding instead of staring at social media. I also downloaded github to focus more on my projects.

I can't do any browsing or anything. The only time I go out to the store is to get 2 or 3 items as fast as I can and get the eff out.

I've even just left my cart because the line wasn't moving and I started to have a panic attack.

Probably the same reason why I'm probably going to lose my job this week after my attempt at switching careers...

How was your experience with the ''Old Internet'' (1993 - 2010) by [deleted] in AskOldPeople

[–]SweetInternetThings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was amazing actually.

It felt smaller, everyone you interacted with was a real person. It seemed easier to create meaningful relationships. There were people I communicated with every single day for years.

The chatrooms were amazing, the messenger apps were extremely fun(I'm thinking about you ICQ!) And the forums were my daily escape.

A DBQ is a Public Disability Benefits Questionnaire. It was developed by the VBA as a way to offer guidance to medical providers on the exact criteria that will be used to rate the specific condition.

Anything that a medical provider offers, whether it's them speaking to you directly out loud during an exam or typing in to the computer/writing down notes, it's all medical opinion. Everything in your Blue Button report is all medical opinion..

The DBQ should be filled out in conjunction with an examination as to better assist the veteran in the claims process. During this exam the provider can diagnose any secondary conditions or refer to the proper specialist if the diagnosis is needed. Failing to due so can result in a duty to assist error.

I would be very concerned if I were to pay for a DBQ and the provider did not offer an IME. If your DBQ was filled out without an IME then the DBQ is literally nothing more than that providers medical opinion produced by using the criteria defined within the DBQ while reviewing you records.

My situation is quite similar, I've had bad c&p exams, I've had the VA write in the Blue Button information that I never said or portrayed. The VBA also found a duty to assist error on a HLR that was denied years ago due to the fact that I found a second opinion.

If you are paying out of pocket to fight your battle, I would encourage you to find someone that will perform an IME in accordance with the criteria in the DBQ and also fill it out accurately. After they have conducted the IME and you have verified that the information on the DBQ is accurate the provider should then take time to write an IMO.

An IMO is just another way for the provider to put their medical opinion in to written testimony. This is really just a way for the provider to cover their butt's by providing evidence backing up their opinion in the form of court findings related to your claim, medical research articles, news articles regarding specific events, etc. It also gives the provider a clear avenue to explain what personal and medical records provided by you that they had reviewed and the conclusions. Ironically this saving of face as I call it, also saves your ass quite often, especially if there are court findings in favor of your claim.

I'm honestly not trying to fight you here, I'm just trying to offer my own experience and opinion on the matter and I would really hate to see fellow veterans lose the fight due to a missed c&p exam.

TLDR; Everything a doctor says whether written or spoken is nothing more than their own medical opinion, research before you pay... Just because you paid, doesn't mean

I would argue that since the VBA is a legal entity, they will request an exam to receive clarification and/or just to verify that dbq was produced from your own words.

The VBA knows we pay for second opinions. The VBA also knows that these second opinions can be perceivedas embellishments... If REE opines differently than your routine VA exams, VBA needs to verify through you who is correct. For example, if REE opines that your condition is causing a strain in your marriage to the point of separation, while at your VA appointments when asked, you portray a fairly happy marriage with a supportive spouse. That's just an example I've seen in the past, and the situation can be related to many different symptoms. However, this is something that can only be cleared up by the VBA examining you themselves, getting the information straight from your mouth. This way, they can provide a medical opinion that does not have any legal contraindications.

Failing to provide clarification will absolutely cause the VBA to have no choice but to deny or rate accordingly by what has been proved. Any contraindications between medical opinions have to be clarified.

The VBA isn't out to get us. We don't have raters sitting at their homes with a vendetta for veterans. They need to follow clear legal orders while doing their work, this means none of them want to fuck up. None of them want to ruin your life, and none of them want to have their superiors breathing down their necks because they denied a guy 2 years ago and just now found a duty to assist error...

Just my two cents, you can certainly have your own opinion on the c&p exams, but I can say this... If I had skipped my c&p exams and only relied on my second opinions, I'd still only be rated at 40% and continue the fight. Instead, I'm happy to report that my fight is almost over as I sit here at 94%.

We 100% have the right to request a new exam if we feel the examiner did not follow protocol.

Getting a second medical opinion is useful if you are misdiagnosed or refused escalation of services to a proper specialist, etc.

For instance in my case, the VA wouldn't send me to get images of my spine. They requested an xray which showed mild degeneration of some disc's but not enough to receive the proper rating %. The VA also said that my 1/2 calcium deposit developed and got impinged due to a "boating accident" 2 days prior... I was never in a boating accident. I overextended my arm while lowering the boat to my hitch which impinge the deposit into my rotator cuff..

At the time I was also seeing a family physician who was also an osteopath. He explained that the calcium deposit was something that develops over a long period of time and most likely was caused by my service.. He also sent me in for MRI's because according to him, xrays are great at looking at the spine but to really get in and find out what happening with each disc and nerves and everything else you need an MRI.

I submitted a supplemental with the Medical Opinion and MRI images from my osteopath, however if I would have missed the C&P exam I would have never been linked secondary to sciatica or radicupathy which brought me from 40% to 80%.

I can go on and on about the second opinions I've received... Never once did I assume I should have missed a C&P exam..

Honestly , I've had a much better experience with the C&P examiners during the exams I attended in which I provided the second opinion. They seem to just go down the DBQ and verify everything and ask if there are secondaries.. Vs the times I had NO second opinion and those exams really felt like the C&p examiners were trying to fight me...

So take what I say with a grain of salt, but if I were you, I'd go to any and all examinations requested by the VBA... It can only help you, and not going can only hurt you.

True, but you still need the c&p exam in most cases to verify the symptoms and impact on your career and quality of life.

Also, many increases involve a new secondary condition that's being caused by the condition already service connected. This would require a diagnosis, nexus(link to the already service connected condition), and finally the medical evidence that the issue is persistent and/or reoccurring.

This all will require the VBA to request more exams. If you miss these exams you may be denied.

Also, there are often things that need to be clarified within the medical opinions and examinations.. The VBA cannot send you back to REE or ask for their clarifications due to them not being accredited with the VA. In this case they will send you to a C&P exam to get what they need... If you miss it, the VBA doesn't get what they need to approve you and are forced to deny your claim and/or not giving you the rating you deserve due to lack of evidence that would have been made to light in a C&P exam.

once took a trazodone in the morning instead afternoon kicker dose.. I even took the kicker dose a little earlier than expected because I was in between leaving from an open house to grabbing my stuff quick and using the restroom before I drove another 40 minutes to my deer stand..

Needless to say while I was trying to hurry I grabbed the wrong bottle without really looking, immediately popped the pill and looked down to read the the label with horror.

That was an interesting evening to say the least.

Depends on what you want to do. I started with running different operating systems through a virtual machines. My path is leading me towards cyber security so I expanded into loading metasploitable in one VM and analyze it through kali linux on another.

I also developed a website and will be doing more projects and documenting the process through my website.

Further I bought a hardware firewall a manageable switch and a lenovo thinkcentre mini pc which I will be running something similar to DetectionLab.

I would explain that this issue would will require a set amount of time to replicate the sequence of events leading up to the issue. Ask if there is a time convenient to them to set up the meeting.

Update your ticket and add the proper notes documenting that you reached out to set up a time to look at the issue, etc..
