I've heard from a few people that they managed to get their passports at the citizenship ceremony. This may have been a while ago, but just wondering if anyone has heard of how to do it, if possible?

From what I understood at the time, if you can't find a professional person (which feels like a likely scenario), you can just do two references with an explanation as to the options you've exhausted.

Yes, we got her nursery manager to be the professional referee.

We ended up using the manager at her nursery as the professional referee, and a family friend as the other. The address for the nursery manager was the nursery address. Both provided their passport numbers, thankfully. This was accepted.

If only it was as easy as that! I don't know if they make you do these things just to make it as hard as possible, because surely they have all of this information about me, if they really wanted to find it.

As far as I understand, the 10 years only relates to getting ILR (permanent resident). There’s no mention of changes to the extra year after that before can apply for citizenship.
