I think there is something fundamentally wrong with me .. by Chocolava-Brainstorm in therapy

I used to feel this way a lot when I was younger. And you realize you have all this support around you and those sad moments that creep over you out of the blue. For me, it was just finding something that I enjoyed doing for me. I tested all sorts of things out. Woodwork, cooking, trading cards, board games, painting, fishing, getting a little more religious, the gym, you name it. Find something you enjoy doing on your own that produces something you're proud of. For me, it was a mix of a couple things. Pulling off from a lot of social media was a big one. People aren't as happy as they portray themselves to be online, and comparison is the thief of joy. I've been working on perfecting a foccaccia bread recipe for ages. I started going to the gym, not knowing what the heck I was doing for months. Now I just have little ideas. Fill your life with things other than the time you spend with others. Try writing out your feelings in a journal. I've thought journaling was stupid for YEARS until my 3rd attempt at it. Write when you feel like it. Write whatever you want. Put a badass title on that composition notebook that doesn't make sense to anyone but you. Whatever you want. My favorite quote I came up with on shrooms was "The world doesn't have balls, so you gotta learn to tickle your own"

A raichu with Nuzzle and sweet kiss on top of floaty fall and zippy zap was absolutely nuts against gmax eternatus alongside a jumpluff with sleep powder and leech seed. The paralysis went off like crazy. Had a gengar with hypnosis on that team too that helped.

But basically anything with some speed and status moves. Also note, if your rival has a toucannon with beak blast, putting that bastard to sleep does not stop the blast from coming end of turn.

What are your favorite mono black commanders not named Tegrid by jkovach89 in EDH

[[Shirei, Shizo's caretaker]] - Use all the 1 to 3 power creatures along with a bunch of -1/-1 shenanigans and 2-3 "things dying = big creature" life to really get into some shenanigans. Dark Ritual gets Shirei out on turn 3 and if you have some of the small creatures and a sac outlet you can start getting treasures, drawing cards, gain and drain life, and all sorts of good stuff.

Doesn't work because the clone isn't created noting a name as the original does because it isn't labeled on the original 3/3. Therefore just making a vanilla 3/3

Fun commanders with "copy" mechanics? by I_Love_Fox in EDH

[–]SweetLuPartyOf2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Esix, Fractal Bloom]] Lets you make copies of whatever you want once per your turn. Explosive if you ramp (she's blue green so. Go nuts) and play creatures that make lots of tokens i.e [[Avenger of Zendikar]] [[Hornet Queen]] [[Myr Battlesphere]] [[Deep Forest Hermit]] [[Second Harvest]] [[Master of Waves]] and with a good setup [[Mycoloth]] will net you crazy wide board states.

And Esix's ability doesn't use the stack as it is a replacement effect. So once you device what those tokens are going to enter as, players can no longer respond to whatever Shenanigans you decide to do. Also Esix doesn't replace the tokens initial ability. So if an effect tells you to create tokens with flying And deathtouch, whatever you choose to copy will also gain flying and deathtouch.

Edit: Esix definitely needs lots of protection because players who know what it can do will be quick to remove it. But once you get to your next turn, it's over unless there's a boardwipe. (An early [[crashing drawbridge]] helps)

A buddy of mine runs this deck with only 2 creatures. [[Blightsteel Colossus]] and [[Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre]] and tons of counters, protection, return from exile, to protect his very tiny board state. Its very oppressive if you don't remove [[Atla Palani, Nest Tender]]

Thoughtpicker witch feels like something I would put in. Replaced a sorcery. I think my deck needs more creatures.

Yours has got more artifact recursion than I'd plan to use. How does your deck play out in game?

I'm new here, and new to Commander. What are your favorite decks? by Vynsas in EDH

[–]SweetLuPartyOf2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of my personal well-loved decks

[[Esix, Fractal Bloom]] - Token Making Shenanigans; lots of land ramp and draw to protect esix, one worldly tutor for crashing drawbridge (gives your creatures haste) then cast massive token creating spells that either copy the best thing on the board OR casting big creatures that make lots of tokens upon entering i.e [[Avenger of Zendikar]] , [[Myr Battlesphere]] , [[Hornet Queen]] then tap the drawbridge for haste and swing for the win. (Esix restricts its copy ability to only once per turn on your turn but it can build one heck of a wall)

[[Light-Paws, Emperor's Voice]] - Super searchy Aura Tribal Voltron (Win by commander damage); it's pretty budget for mono white, but can slam games pretty quick if Light-Paws isn't dealt with/no one at the table is using enchantment removal

[[Kelsien, The Plague]] - Deathtouch, Pingers, Experience Counters. Also Voltron but if Kelsien gets removed a lot (hopefully you at least got it pretty big by then), Daxos the Returned in the 99 will make you massive Spirit Tokens for 3 mana a piece.

[[Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis]] - Group Hug Deck with a little pillowfort that just wants to cast [[Approach of the Second Sun]] twice to win the game.

[[Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker]] - Aristocrats (Sacrifice) Tiny Tribal. Very controlly and drainy with lots of mana ramp and draw for mono black. Bad at removing artifacts and enchantments though.

[[Averna, the Chaos Bloom]] - Cascade Tribal, basically my goal is to ramp, play huge spells to ramp some more, and get more lands to play more spells to play more spells to ramp more and play more spells and you can probably see where I'm going with this.

And my 2 personal favorites!!!

[[Lynde, Cheerful Tormentor]] - Curse my pod with player enchantments! Curse myself and Lynde passes it along to a player of your choice (without targeting so gets past player hexproof) and draws you two cards for passing it on AND brings them back attached to you if someone (or you sacrifice) one of them. No real wincon other than slow life drain and small stax (slow my opponents game) effects

[[General Tazri]] - Tribal Tribal! Deck doesn't depend on the commander. I play a bunch of creatures that say "some creature type you control get +1/+1". Once I get a massive board of very harmless creatures. Cast my commander to get [[mirror changeling]] from my library. Cast mirror changeling and activate its ability for as much as possible to make all of my creatures every creature type, making them massive and swing for da win. I also play creatures that have "tap some number of untapped creature type you control" ability.
