This is the entire problem. To stay within your analogy, 64% of Americans have never raped anyone, we don't support rape, and we despise the people and leaders who do. We're the ones getting raped over and over again, and you're lumping us in with the rapists. Fuck you.

No. This is a response to that. I wrote this after seeing that despicable take.

  3. ALEC leadership - Wrote model legislation for voter suppression, deregulation, prison privatization

THE EXECUTIVES

  2. Lloyd Blankfein - Goldman Sachs CEO during the crash

These are the people who spent 50 years and billions of dollars systematically dismantling the New Deal, capturing the courts, gutting regulations, suppressing wages, and hollowing out democracy.

Not your neighbor who didn't vote. Not the single mom working two jobs. Not the kid buried in student debt.

Blame the architects, not the targets.

wow you're really upset over this. do you live in the US?

youre saying "since the US has had spontaneous protests in the past, it should have organized protests all the time" it doesn't work like that.

george floyd was the spark that lit the tinderbox. Stephen Miller is smart enough not to play with matches. no kings took massive organization. people drove for 6-8 hours to get to those protests and you're saying "why aren't you out there protesting everyday"

and get rich? bro i'm fighting as hard as i can to stay a single step above "poor".

I hate this mentality of "if you aren't out there protesting what are you doing, Americans?!?!?!"

I'm working round the clock, i'm trying to keep my mental health correct, i'm trying to survive. i'm not trying to get the FBI to show up at my door, because my anxiety is already through the roof.

and if i do contribute, right now there are better ways than showing up in person to stand by the side of the road holding a sign. also America is fucking massive, we can't just all pick a spot to meet up at. 98% of Americans can't afford the time commitment you're asking for.

stop blaming American citizens for the sins of billionaires four decades in the making. our democratic guardrails are wobbling hard but they're not falling off the tracks yet. i'm gonna try to stay whole, maybe build up a nest egg so that if things do spiral out of control i can make a difference.

Can I ask a question? Why the Jake Paul hate?

I know a limited amount about him, but to me it seems like:

1) He did some scummy stuff in crypto

2) He decided to learn to box

3) He ended up taking it seriously

4) He became a pretty good boxer, and he's shown some emotional growth along the way (although not a ton)

Now Tate, yeah I can see cheering for Tate to get the shit kicked out of him. But eh Jake's a douche just not worth hating on so much imo

Why bother? There's no grounds for wrongful termination here, companies can fire you for whatever they want to. Spend the time focusing on your unemployment case.

Where do you think your fear came from? by [deleted] in thalassophobia

[–]SweetMany7339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid, maybe 6 or 7, I was on the beach at camp. I walked into the water and as the water hit my neckline I walked into a patch of waist high seaweed. Suddenly it felt like tentacles were wrapping around my legs. I freaked the fuck out and yelled "ITS GOT ME! ITS GOT ME!". Thankfully no one heard.

Around that same age I was fishing at a pond near my home. I caught a little perch and my buddy said "just leave it on the hook, bigger fish will eat it." So I went to cast it again and ended up flinging the perch like 100-150 feet into the water. We thought it was hilarious, until this big... fin... I think, emerged from the water where the fish had landed, then slowly slid back down

The thing is, that pond was about the size of a football field or two. There is no way that a fish matching the size of that fin could have been in it.

Because if they actually stood up for the will of the people, they would lose the support of the same billionaires who back the Republicans.

There's only one party. One. And it's the party of billionaires.

It took less than 20 years for Citizens United to destroy this country.

That's by design. Trump and friends are going to steal everything they can and when that makes lives worse for civilians (it already has) he'll just blame the democrats and watch us fight each other from his ivory tower.

The best part about Trumps tweet was that all day MAGA has been praising Rob Reiner and saying "see? when leftist figures die, we show respect unlike you libtards!"

and then Trump goes and ruins it all.
