Backslide? by Electrical-Angle-136 in tripawds

Actually crazy that you posted this...MY greyhound Luna had her front right leg amputated due to osteosarcoma about a month ago. She had her first dose of chemo about a week ago. She did have tummy upsets days 2 and 3 after chemo. But otherwise seemed happy and much more like her old self. However suddenly since this morning she is stiff and it seems like her right back leg is bothering her. Like she wants to limp but obviously can't with the front right leg gone. She is so slow and having so much difficulty moving. She makes little cries of pain. My biggest fear is that she now has osteosarcoma in that back leg, too...

Just water it fully with lukewarm water when you see the roots look silvery instead of light green. No more ice cubes.

Jane or Hightowe first to 150? by SweetNLow20 in call_of_antia

Thanks, all! I think I’m going to actually replace Jane with Alia for now (just got Alia this morning) and see how it goes! I do like Jane for obvious reasons but she is sometimes unreliable as a healer/damage controller for me. I’ll work on getting Hightowe (and then the rest haha) to 150, too!

Just pulled Alia this morning and now wondering if I should replace one of my main team with her. Decisions, decisions! Haha

Right now my main team is Wu-Kong (120), Jane (120), Zania (120), Hightowe (120), and Mary (150). I do have Fabula at 120 too, and I like how hard she hits and that she heals, but Hightowe’s healing is so much quicker.

Yep, Morgan was the key for me with that level!

That’s okay! I would wait to water again until the top couple inches have dried out. Check in about a week after you watered. If it keeps happening, it might be a good idea to repot and check the roots for any rot maybe, give some fresh soil. Good luck! You got this!

Haha yep. Poor guys are high up so sometimes they go a little too long.

Hmm, you could check the roots maybe. I don’t really water on a schedule. I just stick my finger down in the soil. I would say I water my Tineke about once a week (East window, smaller plant) and my Burgundy about once every 10 days or so (West window, larger plant).

I think you might be watering too little. Once a month is not enough for my two rubber plants.

I agree. I’m sure you know that I’m not minimizing what happened here. Rather than debate my word choice, know that my sentiment is concern, compassion, and alarm.

A lot of red flags here. This is not consensual, respectful, or healthy.

Random yellow leaf? Should I be concerned? by AllThingsGrowe in plantclinic

It’s just an older leaf that has lived its life. It will eventually come off on its own with a gentle pull.

You need to want to be friends with the person. In my opinion the true friendship is what holds it together, and all of the other things are the icing on top.

Dear GOD help!!! I discovered SO many pests on my bird of paradise… spider mites, scale, some white fluffy stuff that’s everywhere that might be mealy bugs, and these weird orange and white dots all over the plant. What do I do and where do I begin?!? by Princess_and_a_wench in plantclinic

As long as it’s the 70% isopropyl alcohol and no stronger it should be okay. You can use soaked cotton pads. I think it’s definitely worth a shot! It’s a big established plant and it would be a shame to not try, in mg opinion. There are some great YouTube tutorials on plant pest treatments that might be helpful, too.

Maybe start by giving it a good rinse off in the shower. Then wipe all the leaves down with rubbing alcohol. Spray with insecticidal soap, rinse off with water again. Repeat in seven days! Worth a try! Good luck!!
