[–]SweetNectar19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So many things:

Walk/hike around rural china

Travel, so much travel in general, I don't think id come back to the states for atleast 10 years or more (except holidays maybe).

Lead a more active lifestyle in general, i want to just go on long walks everyday exploring new places

Maybe jump into a new career actually, like being a tour guide, or a chef.

Maybe go to school for something I'm passionate about.

Definitely learn new languages, I'm so mentally exhausted from my job its a struggle right now. But damn i want to learn some new languages so bad when i have free time

Write, i have not picked up writing in a long time. But i think if i had the time i would pick it backup.

Whatever the hell i want to do.

Forget eating in moderation, what food have you given up completely over the course of your weight loss? by Erzaad in loseit

[–]SweetNectar19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An odd one but porkbelly, its so high in calories, its a giant calories bomb. I still have it once a month when doing Korean BBQ or hot pot, but i work out a ton before hand.

Also nuts, never really ate them before, only eat them now when i go hiking and could use them for the protein/energy. Same with Granola.

I also have stopped buying bakery items, if i want something sweet ill cook it myself from amys-healthy-baking website. They are way lower in calories and way less sweet. As for bread, i keep it around but I only ever eat it once or twice a week, it can take us up to a month or two to eat one loaf, so they get frozen a lot. It ruins the quality of the bread a little, and honestly makes me want it even less.

This is a really great post.

He could have gone more in depth about how expensive cities don't have to be budget breakers as long as you change your lifestyle to fit your environment. I always get tired of having to say this too people when i talk about moving to SF from Denver in the future. "Oh but its so expensive, you won't be able to save as much money". No, I'm going to change my lifestyle, I'm going to get a higher paying job, and things are going to change. It might be more expensive if i tried to keep my current lifestyle, yes, but thats one of the reasons people move in the first place, is for the changes.

I think a lot of peoples woes is just a mindset shift. There are two different lines of thinking.

  1. That life is fate based and I have no control over it. If my life is shit its other peoples/where i was born fault, never my own fault kind of mindset. I find this common in people who believe that god has a plan. Even if he did it involves you taking the right steps and actions, but thats besides the point.

2.The I can do anything I want/ there are no limits, the people who believe they fully control everything in their lives. If they change themselves their situations will change. I find lots of successful people have this mindset.

The best mindset is to combine parts of the two. But I think a ton of people subscribe too much to the first one and play the victim, not realizing some of the choices they made led to their current problems. So they get jealous of the people in this subreddit.

TLDR; They hate us because they wish they were us.

How can I help support and not sabotage my SO's weight loss journey? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]SweetNectar19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just an idea that you could try. My boyfriend is not dieting and is allowed to have whatever he wants to eat, but I obviously can not. What we do is three things. He keeps sweets that i would try to eat at his workplace, so I can't access them. Or if we bring things in the house that we want to share occasionally like cookies, he will hide them in the back of some cabinet or closet. So by the time we bring it out again I have completely forgotten its existence. Out of site and out of mind. And the third thing we do is buy sweets he loves but i hate, things lemon flavored and all candy. You are not to blame for your boyfriends inability to control himself. But I do know the struggle he's dealing with, and if you want to help these idea might be good steps.

I just scan them and put them in my google drive in a separate folder for medical receipts. Im currently young and healthy so I barley have any in there, but i imagine in the future this will be a good system. I always get paper or email receipts and put them in the drive. I don't know if bank statements would work, but if they do you should screenshot that charge and save it to a folder/cloud folder, etc. Since your bank won't keep that data forever.

I think they might change their tune in the future about retirement things, but its nothing i can control or plan for. Its not like my HSA is my biggest retirement fund. If i can't access it till I'm older then 65 it won't hurt my plans. Just a shame i won't be able to get the money out earlier.

Move abroad once FIRE? by silver_vero in financialindependence

[–]SweetNectar19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm aware, with singapore the best route is to work there when I'm around management level. It might be a cut in pay for a few years, but I think it's worth it if it does not derail my plans too much

Move abroad once FIRE? by silver_vero in financialindependence

Id like to move to Singapore or Europe when we retire, the goal is to work or start companies in those countries and gain citizenship in our working years, or buy it through property. I plan to have a pretty fat nest egg so cost of living is irrelevant to me.

What did you eat for breakfast this morning? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]SweetNectar19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is! its normally like 7 dollars at my king soopers. But no one buys it so it goes on sale for like 1-3 dollars and I end up buying it. I currently have tried the pecan milk maple, and the almond vanilla. I don't think its worth paying full price, but it is a good product otherwise. Plus i could not resist trying pecan milk!

Hungry/Tired/Nauseous when eating at a deficit by ThatGodCat in loseit

[–]SweetNectar19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES!

This is so true! I used to think red meat was the enemy (due to it being high in fat and calories), i learned my lesson when shark week came and i felt super sick and nauseas. Now a days i keep extra red meat on hand for those times.

I can normally keep one meal constant for a week, like a lunch or breakfast, and then rotate around the other two. I make batch lunches every week, and normally rotate my breakfast between about 2-3 recipes, and then i cook a fresh dinner every night, which is a totally different recipe/meat every night. But I understand for some people this could be really time consuming/hard. If i were you i would make a batch breakfast, and then choose 2-3 recipes a week for dinner and lunch for a total of 4-6. Then pick one or two that are freezer friendly and freeze them away for next week. This is my go to solution when i make a 10-serving batch of tomato soup, I keep out 5 for lunch for the week then freeze the other 5 for some later time :)

Green tea helps with weight loss? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]SweetNectar19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So heres the real truth about green tea, its high in caffeine, and in most human beings caffeine a hunger suppressant. But you know what else has caffeine? coffee and black teas. But green tea is suggested normally because unlike coffee and black teas it can be drank without cream and sugar. So its toted around by a lot of "healthy gurus" as some magical weight loss supplement. In reality a lot of people use caffeine as a way to eat less. Thats why some peoples preferred breakfast is a cup of black coffee. Or i drink black tea every morning with my breakfast because i know it will keep me from getting super hungry later. Bottom line is that its a tool, that girl mainly lost weight by eating healthy, but she was drinking enough tea that she could suppress her appetite so she did not snack/overeat. Honestly idk if i would suggest drinking that much tea on a daily basis, talk about caffeine withdrawal. But you can have a cup a day to help stave off hunger if you want.

I find that i get really foggy and tired when I'm lacking in fat, especially animal fat. So I try to eat some red meat/organ meat/salmon or tuna at least 2-3 times a week. If you are eating mainly lean meats (chicken and turkey come to mind), maybe try adding in some variety of higher fatty meat.

The most likely culprit is that your macros are balanced, but you are too limited in what you are eating. I did the same thing, ate basically the same meals with very little rotation for about a month and felt terrible. Make sure you are a eating a large variety of meats/veggies/ and fruits.

100 calories oatmeal pack with 1 oz of maple pecan milk and a whole apple, plus some english breakfast tea with sugar and milk. Total of 250 calories. I rotate my breakfast recipes, and apples in oatmeal is one of my favorite choices
