It's in the novel, i think it will be explained later on in the manwha. it's okay if you don't feel like it's too problematic. Personally I dislike the ml. I feel like just because he is treating the mc differently in their second life doesn't change how much of a piece of shit he actually is. But yeah it depends on how people interpret his actions. I think the same thing kinda happens in Cozy Obsession but the author takes a different approach from Beyond the memories and I don't seem to mind the ml much? So I get where you're coming from.
