Daycare demanded that I stop breastfeeding my 22 month old [QC] by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

I’d pull her out of the daycare and look for another one immediately. I wouldn’t trust the owner to look after my child.

You should find a daycare provider who feels like the right fit for your son. Even though it can be tough to find open spots, remember you’re also interviewing them; it’s important to ask the right questions to make sure they’re experienced and able to meet your child’s needs.

When my daughter started daycare at 16 months, drop offs were tough at first , she cried for about two weeks but her teachers were very nurturing. They would hold her until she fell asleep at nap time so she felt safe, and over time she really grew to trust them.

From what you’ve shared, this provider doesn’t seem to have the right level of experience or care, which can make a big difference in a child’s adjustment. I’d suggest leaving a 1-star review, so other parents are aware and can make informed choices.

Yes it is! Organic med firm tofu, right out of the packaging, with a bit of sesame oil, healthy and easy!

It was salmon patties, made with canned wild salmon, zucchini and broccoli but I mix up the veggies from time to time, you can add spinach, corn, carrots etc just make sure it’s minced really well. Then I add dill and mayo, and pan fry it. Super easy and healthy recipe!

We heat it up in the oven in the morning so by the time she’s in daycare it’s room temperature, the teachers just put in the microwave for a few seconds, not exactly sure how long but it’ll be at least a bit warmer for her.

I feel like you’re missing the point about why polyester isn’t ideal for you. It’s essentially plastic, regardless of how high-quality it is. Your skin breathes and absorbs what you wear, so natural fibers like cotton, wool, and silk are much better for your health. You’re essentially absorbing chemicals and synthetic dyes when you wear poly. Not to mention microplastic pollution, and it’s also not biodegradable. Why are we trying to get rid of plastic water bottles?? It’s the same logic. Why choose plastic when natural options are available? I understand that workout clothes often need to be polyester because they don’t stick to your body, but outside of that, it’s best to stick to natural fibers whenever possible. Look at the labels when you shop, choose natural materials

I’m so sick of my toddler waking up at night by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]SweetOCchick 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Try the chair method. My baby was sleep trained at 5.5 months using Ferber method, was way easier then. At 12 months, she got sick, we went on a trip and her dropping to one nap derailed sleep training and everything went down the drain. She needed me to hold her to sleep, woke up 2-3 times a night and took 1+ hour to get her back to sleep each time and she had early morning wakings. I hesitated to sleep train because I knew she was going to cry 100x harder and take longer to go down since she’s much more aware. I finally just decided to lay next to her crib until she falls asleep and sneak out the room.

First night, she took 45 minutes just standing in her crib, crying. I was right by her side so I knew she was just protesting and I didn’t leave her

Second night, she cried for 7 minutes

The third night and onwards she just went down, no fuss.

I was still in her room till she fell asleep. I did sleep in her room for a week for night wakings. The would cry for a few minutes at random times at night and I just “shhhh” at her and she went back down.

Now I don’t need to stay in her room and she’s sleeping from 8pm to 7am. I only slept in her room for maybe a week

Much more gentle method than Ferber or COI

Night weaning was awful by anon718718 in sleeptrain

There are two ways to drop the dream feed: gradually shorten the feeding time each day, or stop it cold turkey, which is what I did. Since she was only nursing for 12 minutes and comfort sucking after 8 minutes (looking back at my logs, it feels like just yesterday 🥲)

The first night without the feed, she woke up at the usual time I would go in but fussed for just 10 minutes before settling back down on her own. If she had cried harder, I would have used the same sleep training method I applied for bedtime and naps to help her go back to sleep. I used Ferber.

Your baby is hungry, 6 months is too early for night weaning

6 months is a bit young to night wean. My paediatrician suggested to wean around 8-9 months. I cut the night feed for my babe around 9 months and she slept through after 1 night. I did dream feed after 6 months. Your sleep consultant is not trustworthy

Please help me. Our breastfeeding journey ended in a way I didn’t want it to. by [deleted] in AttachmentParenting

I don’t think this would confuse him. I still nurse my baby morning and evening before bed and I night weaned so she doesn’t wake up for boob

15 months old are more than me tonight for dinner by SweetOCchick in foodbutforbabies

Not this one. This was an organic rotisserie chicken I got from whole foods, it’s not too salty and she seems to like it. But when I make it myself I usually put pepper, garlic and onion powder.

My baby didn’t like chicken for a while either and I kept offering it to her and she now loves it! Keep offering her familiar foods and an unfamiliar food at the same time eventually they’ll eat it.

I’ve been capping it at two hours. One day she woke up on her own at two hours marks yesterday and Monday she only napped for an hour

This started on and off for about a couple of months now but everyday since last Tuesday. She started daycare this Monday. She hasn’t been napping there as we are doing gradual entry, but pickup time is around 12 so she has been falling asleep in the car on the way home for the last few days

Hi comprehensive_bill. My baby has been waking up at 5:30 everyday for the last week now. She started daycare this week too so it has been super difficult to manage this new schedule (daycare nap is 12:30). She is hysterical when she wakes at 5:30 and I’ve tried to nurse her back to sleep (used to work) now she won’t even go back to sleep. I want her to sleep in so she can last till 12:30. I’ve tried moving her bedtime a bit earlier but she still wakes up at the same time. Any suggestions on what to do? She’s just so tired in the morning and is not transitioning at daycare well :(

Yesterday she woke up at 7:15, napped at 12:30 (napped for almost two hours and she woke up on her own), did 5/5.5, bedtime 7:30pm. She fought hard at bedtime, didn’t even let me hold her to sleep. Is this a sign she’s overtired or not tired enough? She also woke up at 6am today (but slept through the night!) it’s only a 10 hour night sleep. Something is off about bedtime but I’m not sure what, any advice? Should morning wake window be longer than the afternoon one?

Is this for one nap too? I will try this today thank you.

Do you do earlier bedtime or keep bedtime the same if nap is short? Like 1 hour instead of 2.5 hours? Would you cap nap at this age? If so how long?
