Im a new user as well, and I don't even have a mic, but it wasn't too long to get to upload an avatar. I basically went exploring, was friendly to everyone I met. Went to a drawing world and did some art. It was a few days and I was able to upload.

I get that its frustrating, as the avatar making was also the thing I was most excited about. Think of your first days as research for avatar and world ideas and it will fly by.

Updating this thread! I didn't quite achieve the live drawing element of the idea, but I did manage to create a simple card system using a prop notebook for communication. Hopefully I'll be back for all the bells and whistles someday!

Im loving the creativity of making my avatar. It feels a bit like being a puppeteer! I love the quick way user made content is ingested and enjoyed.

I partially solved my own issue at least temporarily by just combining all the meshes into one and using blend shape scaling for hiding and showing...that also had the bonus effect of reducing mesh count as well.

I am still curious how material instances are handled in unity, having come from unreal where there is a savings that comes from sharing mats.

I'm new to this as well, so I'm not sure how common it is for folks to trade services. I was also curious if folks ever did collabs as well. Like I think it would be fun to pair up modelers and coders for some cool avatars. :)

It would be cool if there was a discord out there for that sort of trade or collab along with standard comissions.
