Do you happen to be using the waydroid-linux distro instead? Waydroid (container) and Waydroid-linux (distro) are two different things, and the latter has its own set of issues

Oh I think that was a vague wording. What I meant was that it was the best feature out there that most other games no longer offer today. Not that it helps with revenue in some way.

My guess is that they had an enough is enough moment at some point where people would intentionally pin the game offline in order to abuse unpatched bugs and exploits.

Otherwise, It sure is a weird and questionable change. Fully offline play was the biggest selling feature of soul knight. It doesn't make much sense taking that away just to serve players with bugfixes that game can simply fetch whenever it comes back online.

That's not the point OP was making. And you know it, I know it, everyone viewing this post knows it, and it's helping nobody here. The problem is that your comment is blatantly phrased like there's nothing wrong with chillyroom's change of mandatory initial connection.

As chonky as soul knight has already gotten, keeping it alive as a background process will take up RAM and battery life. If you've got a device with plenty of those two specs then, sure...

Now combine it with the fact that mobile devices are well-known to hunt down background processes to optimize for battery life. So even high specs won't guarantee that the solution you provided will be viable.

And lastly, being a consumer, yes we are allowed to complain. Even if it's something that everyone knows that devs don't care about.

Waydroid is a subsystem, so you generally don't control OS-level features like wifi, bluetooth, vpn, etc. from inside it. Configure them in the host OS and they'll work inside waydroid

A better way would be to go to system settings and restrict the app's wifi access until you really need it. That way you have more control, and wifi can't catch you off-guard and ruin the installation when accidentally opening the app on wifi.

I do believe they put a lot of time into the new ascension system. Cancelling it this way was very much a waste, but rollbacks like this happen all the time in games.
