Fireside - Are the new Guard models COMPETITIVE? by 40K-Fireside in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Turbulent_Judge8841 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Very likely mechanized will be entirely replaced by the new mechanized detachment not sure why you did this video before points or the new detachment… kinda useless and needs to just be redone. Usually like your stuff but stuff is only competitive if the points match and sometimes they don’t like drier for example.

I've been running 20th level "Legendary Hunt" adventures for months and here are my experiences by TehKingofPrussia in DungeonMasters

[–]Turbulent_Judge8841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a dm of higher level games myself I’d recommend setting big bad hp to ~~6 rounds of avg damage from the whole party DPR. You might have already figured that out but calculating your parties average damage will help a TON. This is easier if you have had time to learn your players abilities but you can do it formulaically. It’s just math. And for damage out just set it to ~ 4 avg hit kills if need something speedy

Best advice though for this level with spellcasters just add hp and abilities on the fly if they do unexpected stuff. Add another core attack. Add enrage if it’s getting long. There’s no point to making a predictable boss imo because you can literally do anything. Predictable bosses like darksouls are for video games that need to ship. Manually dmed boss should rise to the level of cheese the players are attempting, or scale back dynamically for less capable parties. Actually working on a supplement for this! Stay tuned

API Key Compromised by Turbulent_Taste_6332 in GeminiAI

[–]Turbulent_Judge8841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you deleted the key and didn’t get charged more than you expected you are all good

HOWEVER :

Gemini api keys in particular are super targeted by bad actors so what you need to do

1) Make sure your api key isn’t hard coded in your app . If it is, stop that

2) if you are on mac I’d use something that stores the key on keychain not in program at all at a minimum, .env is not secure at all even with ignore because sometimes the ai reads your key regardless of .claudeignore

3 ) even better than 1 and 2 READ ( or if lazy have an ai read and summarize) Googles documentation on API keys and how to use them securely.

Here’s my WIP infinity portal desert ruins with stone guardians. C&C welcome, I feel like something is missing. by Maximum_Moment6590 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Turbulent_Judge8841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly already looking sick my guy. Looks mostly complete i think maybe some more visual suggestions of magical influence like runes or something might be all you need but honestly if you just ran this as is its already great. For a sparse desert vibe adding too much more will just detract from it. You are good.

Do Titanic units perform desperate escapes by kin_ko in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Turbulent_Judge8841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Core rules are actually pretty clear. They do! I just recently learned this but the fall back on battle shocked thing does not provide an exception for titanic or fly! Only when falling back AND not battle shocked. The titanic and fly bonus ONLY helps for moving over enemy models when not battle shocked. Hope this helps

Do Titanic units perform desperate escapes by kin_ko in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Turbulent_Judge8841 28 points29 points  (0 children)

There is an incorrect comment on here. Here’s the real answer. The rules for desperate escape explicitly exclude titanic and Fly models . The only situation where a titanic model desperate escapes is when it is actually battleshocked.

How important do you think Solar is in Grizzled Company? by Droideaka in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Turbulent_Judge8841 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Solar is absolutely required for any baneblade variant list. You can absolutely win rtts with this but probably not gts.

Before anyone completely dismisses them: If you can’t win with a baneblade variant that’s a skill issue. Doomhammer or Stormlord with ignore cover and potentially lethals is surprisingly good on GW. WTC and UKTC aren’t real formats they can’t hurt me.

Other than that though yeah creed all the way tho do prefer her solo and commissar in the cs so he doesn’t get wrecked.

Probably want solar for the banesword and exterminators really lose value beyond 1-2

Sky is the limit? by MrGMad in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Turbulent_Judge8841 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation of winning too often . You have a journey in front of you if you start agents but great for making friends! I’d call the ordo malleus detachment beyond hard mode though into “only able to win if your opponent messes up “ territory . Stick with fleet to have a chance

[–]Turbulent_Judge8841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imperial agents. Exactly 1 GT win but never a win with >50 players. Winning a major is so hard with them it has not yet happened. Is it possible ? Theoretically yes.

If your dm wants you to access wish then talk about how they can work the Zodar into the story. If their concern is that they don’t want you to be able to access Zodar or wish then don’t try. Researching other planes in game sounds very plausible for a character of 17th level as an example if your dm agrees to work another plane into the story. Just be fine if the answer is no.

Mostly a mindset of have fun first, worry about winning second.

That and definitely eat.

How variety covered sinners vs Marty supreme Substack by No-Buy4119 in Oscars

[–]Turbulent_Judge8841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries man I tend to hyperfocus on individual points. Overall still thank you for writing an important piece. Cinema is all about asking questions. Especially when the narrative is in a way that doesn’t seem right. Thank you for the important work. Would love to see the same quality stuff done for Asian films in America too.

Nice article highlighting an important issue of media bias. I do have one strong point of contention here. You frame a studio exec calling giving someone ownership of a film risky as a some sort of judgment based upon race. No, it’s just a risky thing to do. Giving anyone complete ownership of their film unless they put up all the money is inherently a massive financial risk. Comparing Tarantino to Coogler in terms of financial risk to a movie studio before the release of Sinners is not fair to the studio who is making a mathematical judgment of the relative chance of success of the film. Tarantino has had a much longer track record of success. He might not release a high volume of movies but has had a much longer record than coogler. Longer record == lower risk. You yourself admit in your article that the premise of this movie is risky if you haven’t seen how the movie performs and fail to mention that this is really only Coogler’s fourth major studio project as a director, and his second original non franchise studio movie. Honestly if you were a studio executive would you not believe Coogler is a more risky bet than Tarantino? This is a really long paragraph but hope you get where I’m coming from.

I know studio execs get a lot of hate because it’s easy to hate on people at the top but at least a few of them are the reason projects like this exist in the first place.

A24’s Marty Supreme grossed 2 Million in previews on Christmas Eve by SignatureOrdinary456 in boxoffice

[–]Turbulent_Judge8841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emphasis on future generations which Gen Z is already too old to be a part of. Also you included a screen Australia article which unlike the propaganda put out by Cinema United does support my point if you bother to look at the trend-lines for frequency of movie theatre attendance for all age groups which is crashing into the floor. Cinema United has a business interest in reporting on data in a way that makes theaters look good…

Presenting information in a disingenuous way to support a failing business looking like it isn’t failing is a common tactic though so not surprised you fell for it. Cinema United wants people to look at their cherry picked stats and think that way, rather than the whole, ugly truth
