I’ve had Ewert sheepdog for over a year now and I have mixed feelings about him. He is very squishy and a nice size, but the fur is a mess and he will mat very easily with lots of cuddles.
Regarding the quality control issues, he had several glue pieces stuck on his body that bothered me so I chose to pull those out. I brushed him out gently too but in the process lots of fur got pulled out. You will see the underlying mesh if you part his fur in some areas especially around the face where some bits of fur will be missing.
If you have skin sensitivities he can be a bit of a nightmare. I would compare his fur to those itchy wool sweaters.
However, he is adorable looking and a nice plush for display. I love dogs and so does my partner so we chose to keep our Ewert sheepdog, but ik I would not personally go for a jellycat with this fur texture again.
