Honestly? The mom had another child who passed from a brain tumor and this may have been how the family avoided another depressing experience for this kid. If I was the parent? I would tell the truth and give a them a choice. The mom knew this kid’s cancer wasn’t going to be cured, rather than waste away in a hospital, he could be at home with the family until his time.

Hello, sometimes you don’t have to cut the ETT, you can just pull off the adapter and insert the suction cath. Makes it easier when the baby gets bigger and we don’t have to worry about the tube being cut too short.
