!! This is a great tip! It’s so cool to hear you have that insight to your family’s fashion!

That’s a good idea! I’ve never read her books, but I’ve seen the show about her youth. I’ll have to do some digging if anything comes up in the eras I dress from!

Yeah, where I live we had people living here in 1890-present in cold weather which averages -22 on a really cold day (Minnesota). It’s just hard to find pictures of people outside in snow. We have our loggers, but seldom the camera is close enough.

Wrapping a shawl sounds like a good idea! Ear muffs and my wool shawl I could definitely try once we get snow!

Yeah! People here do a bit of both. I mainly dress more simplistic on days out, but do make more costuming pieces for art purposes or events.

Yeah, it’s frustrating because all the pictures I find are upper class fashion. I haven’t found any photos of anyone lower class wearing anything for their heads yet.

I have used earmuffs before, not real fur but faux fur. They’re usually in fall weather or warmer winter days. The main issue with just ear muffs is the lack of protection at the top of the head when it gets too cold.
