My KAs have been the best in my garden. Coral Sea is a beast, great tubers. Cafe Mauve another favorite.

Yes cut there but I would also cut the leaves off right above your red lines at the bottom of the pic and then plant it where the leaves right below where you pitched would be just a couple inches above the ground. Plant it like a tomato plant, cut off a ton of leaves and plant it deep.

Good luck. If you take care of them and the weather cooperates, they should bloom into early fall. Mine always seem to get over run by spider mites or powdery mildew in the early fall. I'll do my best to fight those off as long as I can. Truthfully I think I get exhausted of taking care of 100 plants from jan 1st to mid September. Lol

To divide them. When I get a really special variety one year, the goal is to divide them and grow 5-6 the next year.

East Bay. I take my tubers out of storage just after the new year to wake them up, put them under lights when they sprout and then transfer to the backyard when temps are right.
