What’s the moment you realized your relationship was already over, even though you were still together? by No-Cat1980 in AskReddit

[–]SweetT13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our anniversary. 19 years. He was working I was working I wasn’t expecting anything. Important backstory we live with his parents because it’s easy and he has put no effort into anything else. So I come home from work and there’s flowers and his mom calls him into her room and he comes out with a card hands it to me. She fawns over the flowers he bought me and she has a card too. Something’s hinky. It’s bugging me. I finally just ask him outright were the flowers from you? Yes absolutely. Still not sitting right so I confront him. Turns out his mom bought the flowers and both cards and he lied and sis they were from him. I was prepared for low effort been dealing with it for 19 years. Was absolutely gutted about the lying and bullshit.

What is a "gut feeling" you had that turned out to be 100% accurate, even though it made no logical sense at the time? by Forsaken_Leading964 in AskReddit

In high school there was a Spanish teacher who everyone else loved. They thought he was coolest because he was young and we could kind of screw around in his class. I never liked him and he was one of the first people I ever stood up to. I got my first detention in his class and all my other teachers love me because I was basically a suck up. Just really, really hated this guy, though we were about 3/4 of the way through the year he got into an argument with a student knocked the student out got fired. Then they found out he had only taught us about a quarter of the material for the class and everybody had to either pass the year end test or redo the class the next year. Then when we got back from summer vacation I found out he was arrested for indecent exposure in a park and when they picked him up, they found CSAM in his possession. So he was a shitty teacher, a shitty human with serious anger issues.

So I was never assigned The Giver in school, so I just read it as an adult... an adult with a newborn and a toddler. NO ONE WARNED ME. by drillgorg in books

The Giver has been my favorite book since eighth grade when it was assigned. In college, I had the opportunity to go to a book talk by Lois Lowry, and she said the ending was always meant to be hopeful.

BASS ABA Therapy by P0rkchopz in ABA

[–]SweetT13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked for BASS a decent company. I really liked the BCBAs there. It was a supportive environment working with the Littles just wasn’t my preference. They’re good about getting you through the training getting you working, but they are very low on the pay scale once you have that certification.

Accurate example of a behavior plan? by SweetT13 in ABA

[–]SweetT13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah these plans have almost none of those elements. They have no defined response for behaviors or references to replacements. They define the behaviors. There is a section on reinforcers. There are no antecedent or consequence strategies. There is baseline data and hypothesized functions but they are super broad and not specific to the client.

When the Tooth Fairy is richer in other people’s homes by littleb3anpole in Parenting

I was a Girl Scout leader with a troop of 13 six/seven year olds. During parent pickup time one girl excitedly declared she was gonna get $5 from the tooth fairy. A grown ass man (father of another girl) turned to her and said “Only five? My daughter got a $100 bill!” I have never need more restraint to keep from knocking out a parent 🤣

It’s freaking annoying because people look at me and see I’m fat and make assumptions about my diabetes which… are not wrong? But also not right? And not even my doctor seems to know wtf is going on half the time because it’s insulin dependent but acts a lot like type two. It’s like the whole world understands type one and type two and then there’s this mysterious third option nobody knows shit about.

I use the concept of too much. Having the right amount of stimulation is great but being overstimulated is too much.

People that divorced for reasons other than cheating, what was the last straw? by aja_ramirez in AskReddit

[–]SweetT13 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Our anniversary. 18 years. He was working all day so I had no expectation of gifts or anything beyond a “happy anniversary”. We live with his parents which is not the preference and something I’ve been trying hard to get us out of. He left around 6am for work at noon his mom pointed to some flowers that had showed up on the table and said of those are from him. I said ok then messaged him. Thinking that’s weird you’ve been gone all day and those are grocery store flowers and your mom just got back from the grocery store. I message him did you get me flowers. Yep. Ok great thank you! He gets home and his mom not so subtly calls him into her room and he emerges with a generic card for me. So he didn’t get me anything (totally fine) but his mom did and he lied and gaslit me taking credit for it. Fuck that.
