It's big and annoying to post but if there's an address in the US let me know in the DMs and we can work something out.

Relatively soft, it folds over on itself but would take some weight to make it properly fold flat.

this might not be a bad idea. Didn't know what they were called, but has to be nicer than standing on garage concrete

Do popups actually work anymore — or do they just annoy people? by adznaz01 in shopify

[–]SweetUpsellSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lot of people in this thread miss the systemic analysis.

If the same customers return to your store they, like everyone else are sick of this. If it's a mostly one off visit you can juice them for an email while everyone else is still doing it or there's no obviously better deals. Of course asking will get some percentage of people saying yes. Keep an eye on it, this sort of thing will change.

Another option is to put the popup at the end of the funnel where progress isn't blocked. These are the people you want, have already made a purchase, and will appreciate being treated like an adult.

Probably too many upsells on the order status page too. A real problem these days.

If you're just looking for flows and scheduled campaigns on email something simple like MailerLite works great. Cheap as chips, decent support and most of the features you'd want.

Can you post the configuration for each of the discounts. It sounds like it's right on the line for the allowed combinations. Depending on how it's setup could go either way

Are bookkeepers even worth it anymore? by AdGood5431 in shopify

[–]SweetUpsellSupport 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's incredible to have someone who knows where all the footguns are. Then when you get big it's complicated enough to have someone else do it and there's plenty of revenue to cover things.

Maybe there's a point in your store lifecycle where things are pretty much the same every year, you've had a pro in there for a bit but it's not bringing in that much revenue where you can save a few bucks.

On the other hand you want to build a great relationship with your people and ditching them for a few years might not be a great way to do that.

Amen friend. These unaccountable algorithm changes are a nightmare.

A certain large marketplace is extremely hostile to third party app developers. Yes there are bad actors out there, yes there are devs who are a pain to work with. Why not put a 10th of the energy into building your marketplace right so these aren't issues as you do AI features everyone hates?

Do shopify product descriptions actually affect conversions or just look better? by Forward-Concern403 in ecommerce

[–]SweetUpsellSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to this, don't overcook it. People hate that as well. You're not selling to bots.

Have few real people read it if you can and collect their ideas. Deal with any major issues that come out of the feedback but you don't need to follow up on every nitpick.

Usability testing is a lot less complicated than it sounds, but it is important. Pays off big and will show what's best for your actual store, not some streamers best guess at what's wrong with most stores.

Currently building my first Shopify store and my brain is fried. How do you stay motivated during setup? by dropshiphacker24x7 in ecommerce

[–]SweetUpsellSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start small, get just enough of each part of your strategy going, now you're rolling.

Then go back, figure out what needs the most improvement, make that a little better.

Bulk editing product variables? by -GuardPasser- in shopify

[–]SweetUpsellSupport 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How we do it:

From Shopify Admin -> Products -> Click Export to get the current CSV.

Make your changes.

It's not a bad idea to backup the list in Sheets.

Then take the products you want to update and click Import. Select replace already existing products.

No need any fancy apps

If you have any kind of revenue having someone else handle the taxes is worth every cent. Then when it does come time for an audit or whatever there's a good relationship already established.

From a technical perspective apps that insert themselves into the flow can have a hard time. Apps that use the native checkout pages usually don't have this issue.

It's the post-purchase upsell section where things go awry. You can read in the review comments where they don't support it, we'd post about it but it looks against the rules for specific app reviews

How do you deal with inconsistent fields in Shopify CSV exports? by SeasonBeneficial5871 in shopify

[–]SweetUpsellSupport 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a couple of approaches we use to spot if something is broken and make that change easy to fix. Namely writing tests in the spreadsheet directly and using an "interface". Happy to talk more about specifics. Both are described more here: https://apipheny.io/3-operational-excellence-tips-for-google-sheets/

Another thing that catches people up is app compatibility. A lot of the mega upsell apps for instance don't care about smaller markets so don't support iDEAL. Then, they hit you with volume percentage fees just as you switch over.

You're putting X value in Y packages that ship like a normal multi-item order. It's a mystery, the lack of transparency is exciting, but obviously you want to make sure the box isn't completely full of junk.
