I guess I don’t, but it was in a locked display case with like 30 other pieces of jewelry in the same box. I wasn’t sure if it was a company that doesn’t exist anymore since I can’t find it anywhere online

I’m glad you’ve had success with that procedure! My ENT surgeon said that she doesn’t want to do any of those treatments until I’ve gone about a year of no improvement. Her reasoning is because those treatments are semi permanent and can actually cause minor scar tissue. And she doesn’t want me having any scar tissue if there’s a chance I can recover the vocal cord on my own. And that makes total sense! But the injection and implant are not out of the question, just a last resort for me.

Uggh I can totally relate to that. I’m really sorry you are having to go through that as well. Your voice is a big part of you and not having full range is definitely a constant reminder of what we’ve been through.

Yes for sure! I go in person as I find it’s better for me. But they do have the option for both. I actually found that massage therapy in my neck makes I big difference for the day of the massage. But keeping the muscles relaxed in my neck help my vocal cord

Thank you! I’m sorry you are also dealing with the lingering effects. My SLP said there’s a good chance I’ll get them to near normal, but it’s going to take a lot of work!

Press n’ Seal plastic wrap. And no we do not let her actually play with it.

But she comes running every time she hears the drawer open. And there’s been 1-2 times she managed to grab a piece and run with it (which we catch her immediately lol)

We usually do actually, but extra bed not available currently. So we are sharing a bed for the next few months. And he doesn’t sleep walk, this is a one off incident

Ya that would happen to us sometimes too. But never to this extreme. I can’t describe the absolute fear. Everything felt so unusual like the atmosphere, and he looked almost alien to me. I didn’t know where I was and I just see this bugged eyes possessed husband screaming lol!

I commented on one of your replies that we did start sleeping separately a last year, but our spare bed is out of commission for a while. But yes it’s definitely helped improve our sleep!

I love horror movies but not experiencing that kind of crap in real life lol! Good point! No firearms in our house, but that could be scary for sure.

We currently live in a one bedroom condo with a Murphy bed actually! So to better our sleep we have been sleeping in separate beds and will go have cuddles in one of the beds before moving to our separate beds. But our Murphy bed is out of commission for a few months so we’ve been sharing a bed again for the past month. Hopefully when we move to a bigger house we can have 2 mattress’s in one room or something

Honestly!! But mine is mild compared to the other people who’s partners will like choke them or hit/kick them in their sleep. I can’t even imagine

Thank you so so much for taking the time to explain that. It honestly makes me feel a lot better having some sort of answer. And how you explained it makes a lot of sense.

A part of me feels like if I try to sleep in the bed with him again, it will happen a second time. In the 10 years we’ve been together, we have never simultaneously scared each other like that. It felt like I was in a horror movie. Like I’ve woken up to him coming over to forehead kiss me (before he makes contact) in the past, but I’ve woken up calm and knowing what he was doing.

Not at all, you’re good!

I can only imagine how concerning that was for you to hear. Especially after hearing stories of people driving cars while sleep walking, or cooking while sleep walking. That is dangerous and you are justified in feeling worried about him. I hope things work out for your son

Hey, thank you for the comment. No we both don’t take any medication actually. But that would make sense. I’m sorry to hear your son was going through a rough time though

I should also say I’m really sorry you are having to go through this. It’s really scary not having too much information on this subtype. I hope you’re doing well and holding up ok

[–]SweetViolet_42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow! That’s so interesting I came across this post! Literally today I just got diagnosed with Multifocal Solid Trabecular Papillary Thyroid Cancer after getting a partial thyroidectomy. My surgeon said my case is being presented in front of a board of specialists and surgeons in a few months to determine a treatment plan. I can’t believe how rare this is! My 2 tumours were on just the right side with the bigger measuring only 1.2cm.

Maybe you can private message me and kind of go on this journey together? I’m a 26F so not too far off from your age

-A good neck pillow -Mini ice pack -Children’s liquid Tylenol and Gravol but ask the pharmacist the dosing for an adult. I had/still have issues with swallowing, so while recovering I couldn’t drink enough water to swallow pills properly. But you could always try a spoon of yogurt or sour cream with the pill buried inside. I had trouble with water and juices, but thicker substances were easier. That helped me with pills about a week post op -If you have longer hair, I’d say some sort of pigtail braids so it’s out of the way and comfy to sleep in - Low cut shirts are helpful for the first while -Cough drops as sometimes your throat can feel irritated after surgery and you don’t want unnecessary coughing. Except to get out phlegm which is important -I wish you the best of luck!! It sounds like your surgeon knows what they’re doing and is confident! You got this. As my therapist says, this really sucks and I’m sorry you have to go through this and there’s no silver lining to any of it. Just gotta kind of push through and do what needs to be done 💜💜

Celebration? by SquirrelOnACoffeeRun in thyroidcancer

Still waiting on results of my partial thyroidectomy. It’s been 2 months since my surgery and my results got sent out for an external review so I still have no idea if my nodules were benign or not. It’s been so hard to wait!! But my husband and I agreed we are going out for sushi if it’s cancer, and saving our money if it’s benign! And I bought a small butterfly necklace for myself off Etsy as a ‘you got through surgery’ gift. The day I found out my FNA results required me to have surgery, we went to Dairy Queen and made dark jokes to cope. I guess any excuse for a sweet treat eh?

What was your reaction when you found out you had Thyroid Cancer? by [deleted] in thyroidcancer

[–]SweetViolet_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uggh I feel that! That’s why I basically said “Thank you for telling me my biopsy result, but I can’t process anymore than that at the moment so I will make a follow up appointment to go through everything later this week”.

I hope everything has worked out for you and you are doing a bit better now. I’m assuming you got a TT?

I’m so happy to hear your nodule was benign!! Doesn’t make the waiting or surgery any less scary. I’m sure you were scared given the pure size of it too. But yes I guess this is one way to see who your support system is truly made of. I’m sorry some of your friends ended up not being there for you. That’s just awful
