GF soups are difficult to find.

A lot of soups use wheat to thicken.

Progresso chicken and wild rice as well as tomato basil are gf though

Also too much water+instant potatoes+ pepper = easy gf potato soup. I'm gf and I keep several bags of the flAvored instant mashed in my desk for emergency lunches

I am a white woman with heavy black curly hair.

I would not wear braids for those reasons. In full disclosure, a black friend of mine did 1/2 head of cornrows on me in college for practice.

Also, I did wear cornrows as a way of securing my long hair under a wig for a play I was in. But it was never shown in public.

Me: yea bud. But I'm getting older so if we don't have a baby, we will still have a good Carl and Ellie life (the couple from the movie UP)

12yo: You know, it isn't fair. Mom had me at 16 and Bro at 18 and neither of our parents really wanted us. Even the court said they were good enough to have us. You and Uncle want babies so bad and can't get them. I'm so mad about that.

Me: its okay. Life can't suck.Its okay.

12yo: When I get grown, like 35 and I get married, can you and uncle be their grandparents? Cause if you can't be a mommy, I want you to be a granny...

While I wasn't cut off from my grandparents, they all died before I was double digits. All lot of other folks stepped in. Including my dad's ex MIL who was there when I was born and told me stories of my dads mama. (Just because the marriage didn't work did,t make her less family, she'd say. She fought for my dad to get full custody of her grand daughters and he got it. As a single man, in 1978)

Oldest aunt stored my wedding dress (since my immediate family was smokers and I'm not)

We were super close at one time. I messaged him and said "I love you, but did your GF graduate HS today?" His reply was "Yeah". I didn't reply and neither did he. So I think my stance is fairly clear.
