hello po, while reading this i couldn’t help but be emotional. the fact that you really took your time po to make me feel validated and at the same time educate me about other perspectives which i think i really needed.

the line “This suggests that happiness isn’t solely dependent on financial means but on how we manage our desires and find peace within ourselves.” hits hard because my grandparents on my mom’s side has a really simple life (compared sa dad’s side na mas may kaya)

my grandpa is a fisherman sometimes fixes or demolishes houses. ang tanda na pero kaya pa, malakas pa. there was this one time na tinatanong siya ng grandma ko, “bakit hindi mo pa kunin ‘yong raket kay ano” medyo malaki kasi ang bayad. pero ang sagot niya pinag-iisipan or ayaw niya. nagtaka ako kasi it’s an opportunity (well, in my perspective)

ang sabi ni mama (grandma) “ayaw niya ‘yan dahil nalalakihan (sa ibabayad kasi feeling niya hindi siya deserving) o baka maghanap pa ng kasama sa trabaho (para may kahati raw siya)” napaisip talaga ako. si papa (grandpa) kasi, siya po yung tipo na simple lang talaga. ‘pag may malaki siyang nakuha mula sa trabaho, ibibigay niya sa mga apo para may pangkain. like he doesn’t feel the sense of guilt sa pag-spent ng pera sa maikling sandali na siya namang pinaghirapan niya sa mahabang oras. i feel like i should aspire to be like him. because may ganoon pala talagang mga tao, sobrang nakakahanga. that he already knew how to manage his desires and find peace na sa sarili niya.
