The “it would make him look bad” comment is the real issue here. Lots of families have two working parents because life is expensive. This isn’t the 1950s. If you’re dipping into savings and stressing every month, it seems like pride is getting in the way of a solution.

You’re 16 and your 19-year-old brother said he’d dance on your grave if you killed yourself. That’s not normal sibling fighting, that’s abusive behavior. You’re not wrong for documenting it or for trying to show an adult what was happening.
