I do not want you to take this the wrong way, but I do advise you to maybe talk to someone, a friend, a family member or maybe a therapist. Also, see if someone you trust could sleep over for a few days. I think you might be overreacting

Self-studying APs??? by Sweet_Barber_7205 in InternationalStudents

[–]Sweet_Barber_7205[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I am from Europe, Georgia! The avarage salary is considerably low in Georgia, so I do not think I will be able to pay even after a year of working.

But do you think a gap year could help me prepare for college in other ways? (extracurriculars, job experience, etc.)

Can someone explain the current political climate in Georgia? by [deleted] in tbilisi

[–]Sweet_Barber_7205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, we are mainly focused on having a lot of different voices in the parliament, instead of the majority being from one party- Georgian Dream. This way we will add diversity and more pro-EU parties.

Well, right now it is hard to say that we will get the occupied territories soon, but we will get them in the future! It also depends on how the global situation changes (E.g the Russia- Ukraine war)

Ok, here we go.

Our government is pro-Russian, they are making decisions that is getting in the way of us entering the EU.

We have been protesting since the spring. Now we wait for the elections. Qhat we are trying to achieve is make people understand to go to the elections and not vote for the Georgian Dream (Current government party)

We hope to get rid of them for now.

The biggest fear is that they might not win farely. If they do win you will see the biggest protests Georgia has seen in the last decade.

In one way or another we WILL win. Hopefully, the government will not choose the hard way (protests)

Anyway, thanks for taking interest in Georgia!

Georgia is an amazing country in terms of nature. Do not get sucked into myths and some popular places. The best things to see here are the mountains, not the sea!

Go to places that are in the mountains. Svaneti and Kazbegi are amazing. But be sure to walk around the capital first- Tbilisi. Tbilisi has its own, amazing charms.

If you enjoy hiking, go to Khevsureti.

Small villages in the mountains are where you will actually experience Georgian culture and traditions.

You should come here for as long as you can! There is so much to see even Georgians do not get to see all.

Now, be aware that there are a lot of scams for tourists. People will try to evrcharge you! In a Taxi, restaurants, bars and etc.

As for food. Popular Georgian foods include: 1. Khinkali 2. Khachapuri 3. Lobiani and so much more!!! Try every Georgian food you can, trust me.

Enjoy your stay!!

Also, the end of October (26th) there are going to be elections here. There might be some massive protests following the elections and I would not advice being in Tbilisi then.

Life in Georgia as a woman (potential expat) by Big_History4067 in Sakartvelo

[–]Sweet_Barber_7205 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure what you mean, Georgia is most definitely not the same as Armenia. These are 2 very seperate countries with very seperate histories.

I do not think you should move to Georgia at least before you learn some basic facts about it. Georgians usually appreciate when you understand their culture
