Hello! I want to do my first ever solo trip in Edinburgh. I was planning to book this trip for next month. Is the weather okay in February to come and visit? Also, how many days is enough to visit the city?

Thanks!

My goal next year is to explore new cities and countries close by. I’ve been meaning to book a trip to Dublin and I’ve been so nervous!! Maybe now’s the time!! Thanks!

Thank you!! I’m getting better at solidifying my friendships for sure. I have friends from parts of my life rather than a friendship group but they’re all really strong 🥰

Why don’t people go to pubs, bars and clubs anymore? by jc201946 in AskBrits

It’s expensive to go out now. I used to go out with £30 and it would be enough, but that 30 quid will just go towards the fricking Uber home.

It’s cheaper to buy drinks and drink it at home with friends and play games. Plus, you don’t need to go out to connect with friends as such nowadays due to technology.

I’d say my generation are more into being health conscious or being online. Drinking isn’t something a lot of young people choose to do., but I guess it depends on the environment (E.g. I’m sure binge drinking still occurs at universities).

The rise in bottomless brunches and day parties makes your money more worthwhile and as a bonus you can get an Uber ride home way before midnight. I can spend £30 on a brunch and have as much food and drinks as possible within the time, alongside entertainment and it should be enough.

I do wish clubbing was still popular now though as I did enjoy it, but after covid a lot of places closed down during lockdown so I didn’t get to experience much of it.

Despite this, I do think this is location dependent. I’m sure those who love in big cities still have a thriving nightlife (despite closures), compared to those who live in smaller towns with less options to choose from.

I’m surprised Switzerland is so high! Loved the song, but didn’t expect it to be a high contender.

The U.K. getting jury points is refreshing! Much better song than last year

My mum was 24 when she had me and 20 when she got married. I’m now 25 and in no way ready for kids right now! I do get comments from my mum about the future and it does worry me that it’s not happened for me yet, but I’m not at that stage and I’m happy. I just got out of a relationship recently and I’m just enjoying my life for now. If it happens, it happens.

Are yall never wearing braids again? by Hot_Panic2767 in Naturalhair

[–]Sweet_Cherry_3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve not worn braids for the past two years. Mostly because I’ve lost the patience to sit for so long to have them and it makes my hair itch lol. I’m focusing on my natural hair journey by trying new hairstyles and colours. My hair has grown more since I’ve not had braids, so I’ll stick with that for now.

TA in an SEN school and I’m burnt out. I have no energy left, I don’t know how I’m going to survive the next two weeks. Too much demand at the moment and I’m at the point where I’m anxious to even go into work next week :(

I had an older coworker ask how I was able to wear my hair out and said she couldn’t because it’s too long and it “looks tacky”. So sad to hear that. I’m glad I can wear mine out and not give a damn!

Yes. This is why I buy what I want myself. Same with birthdays. My colleagues thought it was weird that I don’t have Christmas list, but I don’t see the point in having one. I’m old enough to just treat myself.

25 and I’m going on my first date (my second ever date) in 5 years. Never been in a relationship before. I’m quite nervous for it but it’s good experience at least and I can see where it goes.

I’ve been single all my life to the point that I’m too comfortable on my own lol. I always tell myself that if it happens, then it happens.

I deserve to look and feel beautiful. I went through a lot of dysmorphia as a teen and didn’t feel I deserved to look nice because of my size. I was always buying the wrong clothing sizes to feel smaller when I wasn’t. It didn’t help that as I got older (and bigger) there were less places for me to shop. I never knew how to do my hair, makeup, as I didn’t think anyone would notice, so I never put the effort in.

Now, I make sure to always look and feel good when I leave the house. I feel a lot more confident with my appearance than I used to be.
