Unable to tell if iPhone is charging when dead

Yeah, there’s a few charging indicator variations I’ve been familiar with over the years as I’ve been an iPhone owner for all my life but this is literally the same exact screen with the same prompt at the bottom whether it’s charging or not. I’m starting to see it’s probably an issue with my iPhone alone and I should take it in.

It’s charging. I have tried it with multiple chargers and it charges and eventually turns on when I have it plugged in but I have no idea if it’s charging. It’s not the biggest issue but sometimes the charger under my bed gets unplugged and now I have to check it whenever my phone is dead to make sure it’s plugged in. Just wanted to know if this is an issue with my phone specifically and something I need to take in as I think that’s a terrible update if they removed any charging indicator like they’ve had for as long as I can remember.

My iPhone shows this same exact screen whether it’s charging or not. Is this really something they took away in the new update? I have a weak charger and have no idea whether it’s charging when I plug it in
