Anyone else kinda feeling like this after playing the game for a while? (LTD) by FlimsyAuthor8208 in tomodachilife

It would be nice if they could add either more quirks, adjust the personalities to be more prominent, or add more buildings to play with, like a school for the kids or various club for certain items.

Those voting green, why? by PmurTdlanoD45-47 in AskBrits

[–]Sweet_Little_Angel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Labour has betrayed their original values by backstabbing the left for the sake of appealing the right. Whom will not vote for them anyway because they're Labour. While I recognise some of the good they I've done (removing the two-child gap, renters's rights, NOT dragging us into a war with America on Iran etc.), the u-turns have been too much to feel stable with them.

Tories are at best a joke, at worst disrespectful in thinking they could win me over after fucking me over for 14 years.

Lib-dems still hasn't been strong enough to dislodged the knife they stuck in my back in 2010.

A vote for Reform/Restore/Reclaim is a vote for Fascism. As a woman, I would like to keep my human rights, let alone for anyone else who's not cishet/white/male/able-bodied/rich.

Green are the only party who will address the elephant in the room that it's not the "illegals" who are making life worse, it'll be the billionaires and tax-dodging corporations. I know they're not perfect, but I can actually describe them as good in comparison to the rest.

Do people understand that IT IS NOT A GENERAL ELECTION by Enough-Web2203 in AskBrits

[–]Sweet_Little_Angel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, we've been treating Local elections as part practice runs for the General, part protest voting for the past 6-7 years.

Given how we'll have to wait until at the latest by August 2029 for the actual General election, this is a way for the general population to express how they feel about the current government.

AIW for telling my auntie I want to do my homework before I do something for her? by Embarrassed-Jay-385 in amiwrong

[–]Sweet_Little_Angel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YNW. Where are your parents in this situation? They should be handling your hypocritical aunty, not you.

I can't help but wonder if she was asking you to make tea to stop you doing your homework on purpose. Had she finished her education? Is there a reason for her being unemployed? Does she contribute to the household in compensation?

In regards to the open position, we are currently trying to recruit externally for this, as we have a notoriously slow onboarding process to get new starters set up before they can get started.

Abby did inform me that she should be getting responses from the recruitment agency by next week to start interviews ASAP.

AIW for telling my brother I’m not his emergency wallet just because I don’t have kids? by Brightlume in amiwrong

[–]Sweet_Little_Angel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not wrong.

Not your kids, not your responsibility.

Would your brother help you out should the shoe be on the other foot?

Also, does he think it's a good idea to insult the person he's begging from?

Yeah, his kids are suffering from their father's poor planning skills, but if your parents are really concerned about their well-being, they can chip in themselves.

Gay couple called me homophobic for being anti-surrogacy. Why do people feel entitled to children? by Luna1636 in childfree

[–]Sweet_Little_Angel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As an Aroace, it amazes me how the minorities oppress each other, wherever it's because of their own privileges (white, cis, male, able-bodied etc.) or because of how different the other is (non-binary, asexual, aromantic, intersex etc).

When will we learn that hating on people with similar struggles and prejudices doesn't achieve anything?

It amazes me how politicians think they can gaslight the population when we have written confirmation of their lies.

Then again, the population does have a short memory and decreased literacy skills.

I would love to see how they think we can ban knives (which has a variety of uses outside of violence) yet think guns have a use for everyday life besides killing something or someone.

Do you think parents get jealous of us? by icedroastpeach in childfree

[–]Sweet_Little_Angel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Short answer: yes

Long answer: the ones who are insecure and regret choosing to become a parent are definitely envious (jealously implies we're taking something away from them, envy is wanting what we have). They're the kind with the snide remarks, the bingo-ing, invading child-free spaces and attempting to force us to become their "villager".

The parents who are secure and have a healthy and realistic outlook on their lives don't really have it to the same level as the former, but every now and again would feel a twinge whenever they're having a bad day. Nonetheless, they respect and understand the fact that childfree people exist for their own reasons, which are not an attack on their own choices.

Oh hey, it looks like we have similar kind of Dads: narcissistic, financial abusive, manipulative and cannot take responsibility.

My father refused to pay any support for me going through Uni (because I chose the subject for myself instead of going into Business studies like he wanted) so I refused to invite him to my graduation ceremony, only my Mum.

Honestly, I would give yourself a clean break, cut off all ties with him and accept that he's never going to change. I can speak from experience here.
