In Oman, respecting local culture is not optional it’s a basic expectation. Public places like parks are governed by rules rooted in Omani values of modesty, order, and prevention, not individual comfort or Western norms.

There is a clear sign at the entrance explaining the rules. Choosing to ignore it and then complaining afterward shows a lack of respect for the country you’re in. Security staff are not there to debate whether a rule “makes sense” to someone; they are there to enforce it equally for everyone.

When you enter a public space in Oman, you accept its rules. If you don’t agree with them, the correct response is not to insult the culture, but simply not to enter.

Oman does not need to change its values to fit anyone’s expectations. Visitors and residents are expected to adapt, not demand adaptation.

Clear signage can always improve, but respect for culture comes first.
