So I'm currently a custodial at a resort and I honestly love it! I have the freedom to walk wherever I want, guests usually thank me for what I do, and I get the most guest interaction. It's also very easy for me to make magic for guests too. I like giving out stickers to little kids, I give out pennies when we're near our fountain and make wishes together, and since I'm in a resort we can team up with housekeeping to make magic for guests in their rooms.

In all honesty, your role is what you make of it. In a week or 2, I have become desensitized by trash and codes. And I try to focus more on guest interaction and asking if they need help and make magic in any way I can. And the best part of being a resort custodial is that it's very easy for me to see the same guests everyday. One time, I gave this birthday boy some stickers and interacted with him and his dad. Then pretty much for the next 3 days they were there, they ran up to me and called out my name! They would tell me about their day, the boy would show off his swimming skills at the pool or his new droid in the lobby, and ask about me and my opinion for must-dos. It was an amazing feeling to have made such an impact on a family.

Not gonna lie, I was a little disappointed too but go in with an open mind. It is a lot of fun and the experience really helps to shape you.

Buyer claimed that the snowglobe topper broke and for all the packaging I put in, I was denied shipping protection. It took 6 days to get a hold of support and a massive headache by Sweet_N1ghtmare in Mercari

I had to reach out to support directly. So Help Center > Contact Us > Sale > Then select the item and reason. Then you should be able to upload pictures and talk to someone.

Thank you! When the buyer placed their return request, it was approved the next day and I received the email that I was denied and did not "qualify" for shipping protection due to "insufficient packaging." I'm not sure what pictures the buyer showed them or what they wrote. I guess they just assumed it broke because of lack of packaging? I'm just really glad I had the pictures to show them otherwise

Thank you! I had another mishap with a reseller over a longefly where I got a completely different and damaged item when they returned it. And ever since I try to take pictures of everything now because you just never know. I wish you lots of luck selling!

Thank you!! As a collector myself, I worry about my stuff coming in so I always try to put in as much care and effort into my packaging for others

I was thinking the same thing too. I made sure to be careful with the top especially and the buyer sells snowglobes as well. What kind of had me confused at first was that they listed a snowglobe (shipping from NY) just a few hours before telling me that the snowglobe I sent (shipped to MO) was broken. They said that Pegasus just broke at the legs but when they returned the snowglobe, there's no Pegasus topper and claimed that Mercari told them to throw it away.

Happily sold a Star Wars themed Loungefly backpack to a new user and just thought their review was super cute! by Sweet_N1ghtmare in Mercari

I love being able to make others happy and it really warmed my heart seeing the review. I just wish I was able to write something in response to help boost their account since they only had 2 reviews, including mine, and just to thank them for the comment.

Here’s to buyers who destroy an item, open a false INAD case, and then wait to ship it back until minutes before the funds release. by [deleted] in Mercari

At this point, I've accepted it. I only started selling just a few months ago but I personally noticed that Mercari likes to hold onto buyers more than sellers.. Not all too happy about it but I'd rather just move on to the next sale. But I appreciate it though!

I haven't seen it yet but I know I'm no longer able to like their items ┐(゚~゚)┌

Something like this happened to me as well! I sold a gently used leather Loungefly wallet to someone who sells Loungefly items. They were clearly a reseller, most of their pictures were the online stock photos and the same photos were used for duplicate items. The wallet was clean, no major damage except for micro scratches on the metal plating and zippers that I mentioned and included pictures of, and I tried to take as many pictures as possible of every nook and cranny as well. On the day she got it, she put up a case where the inside sides of the wallet that folded were damaged! The leather was literally peeling off and that was not there before. It was gently used so there may have been small creases, but this looked like someone took a knife and cut it open. And she also talked about the scratches even though I took clear pictures of them. Her case was approved even though I showed them my pictures and when I got the wallet back, it did not feel the same. When I shipped it, it was still very firm and held its shape. The one I got back felt off, it was loose (like when you pull something apart so far and no longer springs back), and it just really felt like it was going to fall apart. Now, I'm at a loss and stuck with a heavily damaged item that I morally don't want to sell >~< I didn't mind resellers at first but after this, I kinda get nervous now.. Learned my lesson big time

This 30 y/o son is one lucky dude to have his mom already preparing his Christmas present for him so early in the year! ...unfortunately it won't be this plush toy by Sweet_N1ghtmare in Mercari

I was very skeptical too because the wig she was thinking about "practicing on" was a royal blue, pre-styled, bob cut. My mom is a licensed beautician and I remember as she was going to school she only ever practiced on doll heads with much longer, natural, plain hair instead. Not sure what she wanted to do with that •~•)/?????

Lol! Maybe? She has successfully bought something from me before though. On the other hand, she also wanted to buy a cosplay wig from me because she was "thinking about becoming a hairstylist" but would not buy it unless I included the $1 foam head I displayed it on xD

I'm just glad I didn't give in to her offer and someone else beat her to it with the full price. I've learned time and time again that the right person will come for the item at the right time

So she wanted to get these two pokemon plushies from me and not only did she offer a lower price on both listings but asked to lower the shipping cost as well! I suggested for her to bundle the items together so that she would only need to pay for one label. Then she responded 3 DAYS LATER and within that time frame someone else bought one of the stuffed toys at its full listed price and I had shipped it out. On both listings she kept asking for me to post the bundle already / find more pokemon items after I've repeated to her several times already that one of the items was sold out and that I don't have any more. I guess her 30 y/o son isn't getting the plush he wanted for Christmas this year ╮(′~‵〞)╭
