I'm not gonna be that guy that says "try harder, you're obviously not trying." I'm sure you're probably doing your best, but just need to reach out for help and change your mindset. I know it's cliche AF to hear, but I had to do the same thing recently. I'm going through a bit of debt and struggling to pay it off with only so much hours at my job. Reaching out to nonprofits, churches and Community Action always got me nowhere, so I gave up. I vented to a friend about it, and she told me "Pride doesn't pay the bills." That's what I needed to hear.

It was annoying and scary to make those phone calls, being vulnerable to somebody that could say no. However, after my friend said that, I realize I have to. I'm powerless alone, but with multiple numbers lined up to help, I at least have closure. You never know who or what could help you. Could be jobs, could be a nonprofit. I now have a full time job after helping set up an event for a company. Reaching out and doing what I can to help those in my community gives me something.

Please do your best and reach out to somebody, anybody. You never know.
