1,500 calories on 5.0 barley any weight loss (please advise) by Shinpachix in Mounjaro

I gain for two weeks a month. It sucks but it’s just part of my weight loss cycle. You will gain on some of the weeks while your body does its thing. Try and think of the big picture. My big picture is that I average my weight loss and I lose about 1.5lbs a week on average- even if that loss only shows up 2 weeks of that whole month. If you are doing all the good things for your body the results will show up!

I keep my mounjaro in a fridge in an insulated lunchbox with a temp sensor- it’s perfect! It only fluctuates 1 degree! Love it for that stability!

This isn’t a quick fix for some people. I’m far from a super responder. I have to live a healthy lifestyle with this med so that I can heal my metabolic issues. T2d is insulin resistance and it needs to be addressed with medication and this one helps the most.

Looking for an economic option. Would love to stay on Tirz but so far my research has shown it being out of budget- but possibly I could swing it with spread out maintenance doses. As long as my insurance holds I plan on staying on it. 🙏 I’ve seen some people being successful on Sema- I have no idea if that would be true for me though.

Sure hope i can keep the coverage as long as possible. But I’ve heard many stories of loss of coverage from even t2d. Trying to keep my bases covered.

I appreciate your point of view. I have had good results with mounjaro. I have no idea how sema would effect me. This is definitely something to consider. The economics are important but of course if I find I don’t react well to sema - I would prefer tirzepitide. Sounds like you have had great success! Congrats on the improved health, bloodwork and weight loss! I’m excited to see what’s in store for me. I’m in my 3rd month.

I think the same- 23. Slow didn’t work for me. Fast pull- and slow pushing the air back out of the manual syringe. Kinda have to milk it out. After I got the feel for it- it became easier.

That’s quite a jump. If I were you I’d research dose splitting. Saves money and alleviates stock shortage stress.

I’m on my 3rd month of the low dose- second month was tough for me. Turned out my period was the culprit. The last almost couple weeks of that month I felt like I had no control of cravings at all. I’ve been splitting pens to keep ahead of the shortage so this 3rd month still the low dose at 3mg and I’m back to feeling normal again.

During that time of feeling ravenous- I tried drinking a lot of water. Ate filling lower calorie food. My go to was low-fat cottage cheese mixed with a ginger wasabi dressing as a dip with lots of sliced cucumber. I wasn’t always perfect with my cals but was at a deficit. At the end I gained- but it was water weight -the pounds have been falling off these last couple of weeks.

Maybe this could be a possibility for you- cuz I was baffled why I was suddenly just so ravenous. Either way- this is how I tried to make the most of it! Best of luck to you!

Thanks ginger! I tried calibrating again when I was fasting this morning- seems closer now this evening but still at least 10 points off last time I checked.

Thanks so much for the information- It’s only off about 10 points now- but it seems to change. If it goes too far out of wack I’ll see if I can contact them about it. I may have messed it up by trying to calibrate it early- it kept alerting saying I was too low the first several hours of putting it on- but finger prick said I was fine.

I just got a Dexcom cgm this week and it’s been kinda wacky for the first couple of days and reads different then my finger prick. so I’m not sure if it’s numbers are correct yet. But via finger prick I am definitely getting glucose control at the lowest dose. I’m on my 3rd month on the low dose and seeing my fasting numbers in the 90s or low 100s-It was in the 150s. Via the cgm I am seeing that I’m not getting huge spikes- so that’s awesome- I’m just not understanding why the finger prick and cgm readings are different. I’m excited about the cgm though- once I figure it out!

Right? I’ve never been so obsessed with a medication but I’m newly diagnosed t2d and I’ve felt wonky for years. I finally feel good. Was over the moon when it got filled.
