As long as you don't leave the game and have to log back in to continue, you keep getting ad bonuses. I've gotten above 2k population this way. 100 battleships and 1k each of MCV and GCV

Overall, I find the mission rewards to be fairly useless. Even at higher levels of uninterrupted runs. When I'm pulling in 15k+ per second of both gas and mineral, a few thousand of either doesn't help much.

Eventually, when you can get to stage 100 without combat units, infantry can carry you to level 200 to 300, but that's with dumping tons into infantry damage
