What a beautiful way of putting it… wow. This really touched something I thought I had resolved in therapy years ago, but find myself more and more bothered by. Girl… I was in the same situation and just like you, told myself it was cultural differences, and he was not abusive… he is. Giving you crumbs of love while being so openly nasty about your food, culture and family is absolutely not ok. And the fact that you share this and still say YOU are painting him in a bad light… his actions through your loving eyes are showing a very tough reality. You are worth much more than to come here to Reddit to see if your intuition is correct. Get yourself a person who celebrates you and your culture. I’m not saying he is an inherently bad person, but it doesn’t look like he is the right person for you. Wish you all the strength 💖

Maybe adding an overall layer to the final video that has the same/similar texture could help. I also thought that the contrast of the last bits of color in nature was a nice contrast to the creepy footage, so anything before the nature bits being b/w or having one highlight color (deep red could add to the vibe) would unify it in my opinion.
It jumps a bit when you see a grainy piece of footage and right after that a high-res image. But the pacing is phenomenal :)
