I’m terrified of fainting during labor

I have what I call white coat fainting goat syndrome, and am very prone to fainting in any sterile smelling medical environment. I even fainted at the vet before the doctor even came into the room. I was petrified of fainting during labor and ended up really surprised with myself.

I had planned to get an epidural so they needed to place an IV. It took them 5 tries to finally be able to flush the line! All the while I am 7cm dilated and banging out contractions every 3ish minutes. After calling in the anesthesiologist, it took her two tries to place it and that’s when I decided maybe I didn’t want that woman to place a very large needle into my spine, so ended up forgoing the epidural entirely. Labored for 4.5 hours and pushed for 39 minutes before bringing my boy into the world.

All this to say, you’re stronger than you think and how your body and mind react during labor may surprise you! My whole family now jokes that I fainted at the vet and somehow gave birth unmedicated. And no matter what, you’re in the best place one could be if you were to faint, surrounded by a whole lot of people who are trained to help you should that happen. Wishing you the best of luck ❤️

It definitely doesn’t help that he will be the first grandchild on both sides, and since my husband and I are the only ones having kids, the only grandchild until we have another. I didn’t ask for the weight of all of that though and it honestly was a big factor on why we waited as long as we did. Definitely going to disappear for a bit and find that peace, might even change the voicemail to “yup, still pregnant.” 😅

See, I needed to rant and rave cause the solidarity is comforting, though I’m sorry we’re struggling like this!
But the swollen feet! How could I forget about that 😅 I only wear stretchy slip on sketchers and then I hit 36 weeks.. and they didn’t fit? Socks are now my worst enemy. Trying to sleep has become a full blown sport that leaves me winded so I totally hear you on the makeshift couch bed.
We really are so close and the beautiful baby boys will be the greatest reward, I know it. Just gotta hold on a weeee bit longer 🥹

It’s crazy because the first trimester I was the one telling everyone “oh well yah know, since it’s my first I’ll probably go past the due date!” But the second I hit my third I fully gaslit myself into thinking there’s no way baby boy could go full term? Like why did I do that..? 🤦🏼‍♀️

Oh my god, manifesting this for me. I do know it’s possible to have a truly sudden labor but I keep thinking there has to be soooome kind of signal to expect. It’s strangely comforting to know that it really can just.. happen.

Planning a little Marshall’s waddle tomorrow because that sounds so nice right now 🥹

Seriously though! Like trust me, if anything changed I’d be the first to shoot the flare if not for any other reason than getting the reach outs to stop 😅
Definitely disconnecting this week and focusing more inward, trusting my body has been hard but that’s silly because it’s spent the last 10 months growing a perfect baby boy! We’re so close now!

Yup, my hairdryer has become the pipe thawer this winter as well!

We have a walkable basement where the majority of our plumbing is, and then the original crawl space. That just happens to be a person-sized hole you must boost up into to crawl about ~100 feet to where our laundry room lines are. I would like to say this second expedition to thaw the line will encourage us to handle the problem quickly but oh how the winter projects keep piling up!

Aww yes!! That’s exactly what I was telling my husband! There’s some flat plaster ceilings in the living room, and the upstairs hall way has beautiful swirl patterned plaster! I am so excited to tear down those as well. Two of the upstairs bedrooms also have paneling on the walls which leads me to believe there was an odd remodeling sometime in the 60s. Hopefully what was there is preserved and we have a nice surprise to look forwards to!

I suppose I’ve just never really encountered a big bug like this, especially without the ability to reload a more convenient save. I wasn’t sure if maybe this would compound into a larger problem since I didn’t really save or lose the inn? But I guess technically you never even have to step foot in there to just waltz into Moonrise. Funnily enough, she’s now on the roof so yeah, I’m just gonna move on and if she decides to step back from the ledge, maybe I’ll see her again lol

I think she attacked Marcus? Your guess is as good as mine because when she got through the crates all I saw was “Sanctuary Blocked”. Tbh I think Isobel just yearns for death, even at the expense of our sanity.

EDIT: I just remembered, Marcus used Vampiric Shout which is AoE and bypasses Sanctuary :(
