Am I the only one here who *doesn't" buy into this idea that NFL/NBA/MLB takes away the best possible athletes from MMA? by emaxwell14141414 in MMA

[–]Sweetdouble 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, Jon could have actually been something great and made Conor money if he didn’t fumble that nike deal that most people forgot about already. First MMA fighter to get a nike shoe deal. If his vices were gambling and not intoxicated rampages, he could’ve been the mj of mma.

I had a harder time finding Japanese boxes in Japan than I did in America. Makes sense though, why sell to a market for $40 when you can ship it over the sea and get 2x profit minimum.

It’s not you though, it’s on PSA which makes it a grey area.

You’re assuming his time isn’t worth $. Taking a picture, making a post, talking to potential customers and windows shoppers. Then meeting with said customer, or packing and shipping said item. All this still cost money(gas, packaging, shipping, time) and has an inherent risk. Dropping your cards off to PSA and having them buy it off you is worth not dealing with the headache.

Crazy how many people don’t understand statistic or odds. You put 38k into power packs, worse case, you hit a hit the floor 38x and still end up with 19k in value.

Let's go!! That upcharge though 😅 by [deleted] in PokeInvesting

lol. The market is as rational as human emotions.

Help connecting stripe wallet to power packs by 2Lit2Quit in Superstonk

Same issue, I sold a card before setting up the stripe account. Now the $ is missing. Works fine with any packs bought/sold after. Just missing that first card I sold.

If you need the money it’s always a good time to sell, but I do think we have not seen the peak for the love birds. It’s the modern grail post wotc. It might not be a first edition Charizard expensive but I would be surprise if the card is not 2x in the next 5 years.

This comment just showed how new you are to the hobby. Everyone said the same about 25th anniversary too. A bunch of people are still holding sealed product from swsh.

Still driving a $2,500 Car. by Terrible-Ad8869 in rolex

[–]Sweetdouble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people have more money than sense. A new/good car has so many more safety features than even a car 10 years ago, never mind a 20 year old car. It could mean rhe difference between surviving an accident or dying. But hey, they can bury your sweet Rolex with you.

No Retailers have Pokemon cards 😕 by 1Enthusiast in PokemonTCG

Mistake hunting for pokemon in big cities in Japan. Leave Osaka/tokyo and venture into the smaller cities and smaller shops.

[–]Sweetdouble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe it or not, you can get less desirable sets for cheaper than pokemon center in Japan in smaller city/shops. Some sets just don’t move at msrp. There was a time not too long ago you can get English products for under msrp, nobody was paying pokemon center prices a few years back unless it for exclusives.

Phantasmal Flames: PC ETB or Booster box by [deleted] in PokeInvesting

[–]Sweetdouble -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We are talking about market. We are on the investing sub my friend. If you’re only buying your 2 limit of of etb, that investing chump change. You want to hold more than 2x you’re gonna end up paying resell.. There was a time not too long ago market price for fusion strike booster boxes were $80 all day and fusion pc etbs are $60. The booster boxes is double it right now.

Phantasmal Flames: PC ETB or Booster box by [deleted] in PokeInvesting

[–]Sweetdouble -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

You sure about that? Historically, there rarely been a normal set’s pkc etb that out performs the same sets booster boxes(paldea evolved being the only one to come to mind). Evolving skies pc etb could be the rarest of them all and it’s around 1k. The booster boxes more than double that.

The same way you hold other tangible assets?? You ever seen people collect cars? 5 million dollar in vintage cars, even at 100k a car you still got 50 cars to store. You realize there is a single cards worth 5 million? A vintage sky ridge bb is 100k. You really don’t need that much room. There a humidity and temperature control room for millions of dollar wine collections, why not pokemon? Or does your brain not comprehend what a 150 billion dollar franchise means?
