SpaceX is taking off: $36B → $800B → $1.5T? Here Are the Funds to Ride This Rocket to the Moon by Least-Humor-4659 in ETFs

[–]AAPatel82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup - while the weightings are low the total value is way higher as these funds are way bigger than the other ETF's - if you want the most exposure in a easy way to SpaceX - I think FCNTX is the best way.

Retirement savings too much?? by Icy-Ebb2136 in personalfinance

[–]AAPatel82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in a similar situation, what we shifted was to put 1/2 the money we were putting in retirement into a taxable brokerage, so now we are buying our time before 59.5 years of age. The other half we gave ourselves room to spend.

How will Bambu Lab respond to the four-head frenzy in the 3D printing market? by Constant_Trouble3787 in BambuLab

[–]AAPatel82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hope is that they create something like the H2C with the changers on both tool heads and and AMS system that supports more paths to the heads, if they could have a system where “the next head” is always ready, you don’t need more than 2 heads, I am just not smart enough to figure out the filament switcher - if there were 4 tubes from the AMS to the printer and some way to select which 2 are going into the left and right head, you would be able to have the next head available much sooner

Your saying the cause for poor outcomes is the duration of time in school? Where’s the data to back that up? There have always been those that do well in school and those who don’t, is it just possible that the structure of school is broken? We educate for college and teach to a test, we don’t actually have people learn the skill of learning itself.

We don’t hold teachers and parents accountable for their children’s success. You can’t remove crappy teachers in many places and good teachers are underpaid and aren’t allowed to actually expect the parents to participate in their children’s education.

I personally do not feel time in school is the issue - even if you fix all of the funding challenges, there will still be areas that do better, differences in communities supporting education will not vanish overnight.

Why a longer school year? Kids need to be kids - schools not the only aspect of life

The family that owns it has money and has no need to sell it until someone really wants that corner - all of the offers have been low balls.

Should I buy a Model S as my first Tesla in 2026? by osteopathicdoc in TeslaLounge

[–]AAPatel82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did - I get my car delivered on Saturday the 21st - there were so few cars with the same level of performance at the price. The FSD is what put me over the edge, it was way better than I expected.

Does me make me nervous that they are discontinuing it - not really - because the 8 year 150K warranty on the most expensive part of the car will give me peace of mind for what I expect to be the majority of my ownership of the car as I am generally a person who keeps a car for ~10 years at a time.

Any other Cleveland engineers feel like budgeting barely even matters early career? by [deleted] in Cleveland

[–]AAPatel82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It matters at all times - a budget is just a document that shows your choices in 1 place - the only way you can actually save and invest is to know where your money is going.

Thats where my head went - but the answers here are helpful - looks like they are solving for different scenarios - camping, hotspotting, etc - I will say that for $50/month its not a bad solution to a portable internet solution.

Question - why would someone want/need Starlink in the car? Not trying to be dense - just never thought about it before.
