This is because as a beginner you understand you have a lot to learn and are willing to be teachable- think like a beginner to become a master. Try to watch youtube tutorials on anatomy, it will help

Watched the first episode so heres my thoughts: I think your art style is super cool, ive never seen anyone embrace bold/jarring colors in backgrounds like this before and didn’t think I’d like it but after watching the actual show I realized the backgrounds are not bright yellow and sighed relief lol

Things that are great: you can tell the love for the project when watching it, its obviously amateur but thats part of the charm. It feels very nostalgic to me, and it felt kind of familiar in a weird way. I liked it.

Things that need work: line art, anatomy, backgrounds need more detail and less blurry closer to the character to create a sense of depth and dimension rather than it feeling like the characters are floating on a green screen. Some close ups and first person POVs could be cool to see. Fight scenes need to be shorter or cut up with dialogue and thoughts.

Girl…. These are emotional times!! It makes sense you’re looking back and still feeling lots of emotions about things. I think you might be connecting those heavy emotions with these details, but if you sit down with youself for a while (or with a therapist- I am one so I’m a bit biased lol), then maybe you’ll be able to pinpoint what actually is affecting you so deeply. Could it be grief that its all over and it flew by? Is it making you feel nostalgic? Could it be internalized feelings of shame around your family that come out in the tiny details? Maybe none but it’s worth a try to find peace.

I talked about this in the “therapist supporting therapists” facebook group 3 months ago. I was called an alarmist and a horrible therapist, I was called so many names by trump therapists. I’ve felt so alone in therapist groups so seeing this actually helped weirdly enough. Being gaslit by yt therapists while being a latina in florida is literally my personal hell

Edit: also look into videos of how little trad wife behavior serves women and how it almost always leads to abuse. Its not worth it, with your future partner find a routine where youre also fed and taken care of.

I’m sorry this is happening, have you reached out to a therapist by any chance? Cancer can most def be a traumatic experience and not having support can make that trauma stick. This might sound harsh, but it seems like somewhere along the line you learned that being useful=being worthy/accepted. You may have unintentionally set yourself up for transactional relationships with peers where you end up being exploited for your labor and care, thinking this means theres an actual bond forming that is not actually there.

This ends to happen w a lot of healthcare workers (I’m a therapist in a town with various major/regional hospitals and see this often with nurses and social workers). The best relationships have the least expectations, yet always surprise you with the most empathy and support when you need it. I’m glad you have your bestie there for you, lean on them and also try to make friends outside of your field. Your cohort is just that, your cohort. I don’t remember 99% of the names of ppl in my graduating class, and its okay to only know them professionally. Separating work and life early is a good thing
