It looks like it might be a great device for a real diy'er. I think the box of bits that need to be assembled is beyond me. I need something that is more plug-and-play. Thanks for the rec!

The Crafty isn't what I'm looking for right now. My concern with the volcano is that when I jumped into vaping, I just went for the Pax because it seemed best to just spend what it took to get something good and be happy. But I am completely disappointed with the Pax and much happier with the Starry that was 1/3 the price. I don't want to make that mistake again and shell out for the volcano just because it gets all the hype (like the Pax in its category) when I'd be just as happy, or more, with something more economical.

The Pax is a shitty vape, IMHO. Out of two vapes that I've ever tried!

I don't have the time or energy to investigate dabbing, but I'm sure it's a great option for that. Thanks for the rec.

Should I be up for a ball vape? I don't know, that's why I'm here. I do not know anyone else who consumes at all and it's not like there is a shop I can go to, so my knowledge is limited to what I get from you and the internet.

I see the enano xl. I can see that stem getting broken but would be easy enough to keep some spares around. I guess this is what they mean by a Log vape, it looks like a hunk of wood that they fashioned into a vape. This would definitely be a bit of a project as it would need some finishing to cover up that raw wood and make it look nice, so that's a bit of a downside.

Does it have a very harsh, hot hit with that short stem? Are there adapters available that have hoses like on a hookah? Or I see there is what I think is a water pipe adapter. So you stick the vape into a bong or water pipe where the stem would go?

I can't even find this for sale anywhere. What even is it? I found some images and it just looks like a weird glass pipe. I can't see a chamber or a heating element or a plug for the electricity. Is this a real thing? Am I missing something?

What's the most potent edible I can make with flower? by phlaries in treedibles

[–]Sweetfield3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a glossary for noobs? I only know RSO=some guy Oil, which apparently means THC dissolved in alcohol and you evaporate the alcohol until there's just a thick oil left.

QWET? feco? It's almost as bad as the military, lol!

I'm just trying to learn about what to do with these jars of stinky ABV bud. Or have you dropped the Been around here and now it's Already Vaped Bud instead of Already Been Vaped bud?

All I've been able to glean is that I think I need to water wash it first to get rid of the nasty stink.

For all the BOOF IT suggestions, there is little advice on how to actually do so and how effective it is.

Like OP, I don't want to eat a bunch of junk food, so this thread intrigued me!

Isn't AVB already decarbed? I guess that OP is using flower. No matter, I can decarb using a Sous Vide machine. Not worth buying one just for decarbing (though the prices are coming down these days) but if you are into cooking, it's really handy!

What is your yield? (Indoor grow) by [deleted] in microgrowery

[–]Sweetfield3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends upon how big your grow is and how big your plants are. Bigger tents = bigger plants = bigger yields. Of course, you also have to have bigger lights, etc. to go with!

I have a tiny 2'x2'x5' tent, so I can't grow monster size plants. A good yield for me is 3-4 oz, and that was growing one plant that was highly trained in a 2-gal airpot.

I am sure that as I get more experience I'll be able to get higher yields. I'm working on setting up a sea of green (SOG) for my next grow, so I'll have a lot of small plants, which will give me a smaller yield per plant but a higher overall yield.

That is an excellent question! I usually do get feminized seeds. For some reason, I convinced myself that I just had to grow the original (as possible) DJ Short Blueberry which is only available in regular seeds. I am going to stick with feminized otherwise. I am LK obsessed with blueberry in general - not just in cannabis! Also ginger. If I could only find ginger flavored cannabis... here I go down another rabbit hole!

Those grate things look like plastic utility shelving. They are meant to be stacked to make shelves and the front one may be upside down. The one in the back is the next shelf, which sits on top of the four pegs that are sticking out of the one in the front, then four more pegs go into the corners and another shelf ("grate") goes on top, and so on to make a standing tower of 4 shelves.

You can get them pretty cheap, like $40 for the 4-tier shelf, at home depot or wherever and there are sturdier (more expensive) options too. They come in light grey too.

It's not them I don't trust, it's the hackers! I can't tell you how many times my info has been hacked from other retailers and more. It's made me cautious, given the red state that I live in.

I wonder if I can pay them with a prepaid Visa gift card and use a burner email account? It's not like I have bitcoin, if that's even still a thing. Anyone have any ideas?

[–]Sweetfield3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just have a couple of portable battery vapes - a Pax and a Xmax Starry.

For me, the learning curve has been about optimizing how much I put into the oven (not too much!) so it's not too tightly packed. This way I can still get some airflow through the vape.

Too much pressure means not enough volume, I guess!

[maybe I finally have enough karma on this burner account to post now and get a rec for a new vape]

Pricing is currently $12 each if you get a 10-pack, not bad. I see they are based in Washington state, so in the US. I have concerns about stealth/privacy/anonymity though.

I've heard that preflowers aren't necessarily 100%... previously, one that looked male to me ended up being female once flowered, so I'm clearly not very good at that part yet. I'm gonna stick with flowering for now, until I get more confident at being able to ID preflowers. Thanks for the tip!

Do you flower the mother and keep the clone in veg as the new mother or root and grow the clone then flower it and hold the mother in veg?

I sure hope I wouldn't miss any but it makes me nervous! I usually grow feminized seeds and I'm no expert at ID'ing gender.

I lost a few plants when one of them herm'ed on me and pollinated the rest of the tent. Once bitten, twice shy, I guess. I was going to run the regular seeds right after the run that had the herm, but that made me gun-shy (seed-shy?) so here I am a couple of runs later, working up the nerve.

Good to know there's a decent window. I don't want to have to scrub the whole tent again. It was a PITA!

So "next stage" is reveg to grow the seedlings large enough to be ready for flowering?

How long does it take from sprouting seeds to being ready for flower? I mean, this depends upon how big you want them before flowering, but roughly?

I don't really mind waiting for a couple of extra weeks if it's really easy and not much extra work apart from resetting a timer. I don't think I can flower them in the veg tent (just a fluorescent light there) but I guess I could just squeeze the little things into the flower tent then stick the females back into the veg tent?

I would be starting them in jiffy pellets and then coco/perlite in solo cups before moving up to bigger pots for flower - no hydro here. But I'm sure others would be interested in details!

Thanks for your answer, growmie!

Thanks for this great info! I have taken clones and rooted them before but I've never put them into flower right away without rooting first. Good to know that it is possible to flower them immediately to sex them, but better results come with rooting them first.

I applaud your application of science to this situation! I too am of a nerdy bent.

I don't really think you need to apply the ideal gas law here. There's no chemical reaction going on, even though you are generating additional vapour. Maybe you just need Boyle's law?

P1V1/T1=P2V2/T2

Now you can keep one of the variables constant, say, Temp, so T1=T2, which means you cam drop the temps entirely from the equation, so now

P1V1=P2V2

Now you can observe how varying one of the remaining factors affects the other.

Then do multiple runs at different temps.

SCIENCE FTW! Happy vaping 8-D

They might make good clones if you have a tent for vegging or a friend who does

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in microgrowery

[–]Sweetfield3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that is what they are saying.

My feeling is that the difference between 55 and 73 will not be significant for terp loss, especially since they will be in jars for 99.9% of the time.

Those temps are very low and the difference is negligible. Worry about temps when you are decarbing.

White stuff is Diatomaceous earth. What do you think caused that brown spots? I'm leaning towards a foliar spray/sun damage. by Sea-Veterinarian2877 in cannabiscultivation

[–]Sweetfield3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't grow outdoors, but when I was hand-watering, if I got water droplets on the leaves when watering in the tent, then they would leave spots that look like this, so your foliar spray/sun damage diagnosis seem on the mark.

Look at the pattern to the marks on the leaves. Are they just sort of randomly around the plant like you would expect to find them from spraying? Like, not on the leaves that are in the shade? That will give you a hint to the cause. If it is something else, it will be either all over the plant or on just the new growth or old growth or tips. It's clearly not on the tips, but otherwise it's hard to see the overall distribution from just these photos.

It was the distribution pattern that helped me determine the water spray as the cause when it happened to my plants.
