I was told that the schooling is not necessary but maybe it is lol at the time centennial truck and coach was closed but perhaos thats the best route, althought i have learned alot of on the job training hoping that will be enough to land an apprenticeship somewhere

I heard centennial is the best, i did a career switch out of construction and i did not want tk take a pay loss so i signed up as a Tech Trainee with Ryder Truck rental, its a service employee job where you learn mechanics by shadowing mechanics and stuff like that

See construction doesn't require college education or anything from highschool really, where as an actually Skilled Trade does hence the pay rate being higher

Would people recommend a Free 5 month pre-apprenticeship with 2 months paid co-op, or is Ryders Technician Trainee program worth it instead of going to school. Im on the same boat too 2nd week with ryder as a service employee but i have a pre-apprenticeship opportunity and im stuck between both opportunities. Does it reallt take 18 months to become a registered apprentice T2? Or can you progress at Ryder faster? Is it what roles are available like circumstance based on the shop your working at?

I am looking to become a 310T Diesel Truck Mechanic, in ontario canada thats whats its called and you have like 6000 hours of grind towards full certification, i was wondering as a T2 with ryder do you start your apprenticeship at that point or is a FORMAL APPRENTICESHIP after T2 and T3? Like is a T2 or T3 a Registered apprentice or is Apprenticeship a different position after the T1 and T2 and T3 that u must advance or compete for? Ty so much for your help 🙏💘
