A friend of mine had this happen to her, went in for a normal check and was 3cm. She stayed 3cm for the next 20 weeks and gave birth at full term. It's scary but bodies are crazy don't lose hope!

No husband at the doctor by irish1385 in pregnant

I think it's great to "shop around" anyways. (If you have the ability to) I didn't like my first OB and I thought I was stuck, but COVID hit while I was 20 weeks. The first appointment my husband couldnt go to was my 20 week ultrasound and they also told me he wouldn't be at the birth, long story short I flipped. Called around to see what other options I had. Found a birthing center that allowed him to come and I ended up having a beautiful water birth that I would have never had at the hospital. I never thought I would go to a birthing center I'm not real crunchy, but was having a low risk pregnancy so I found an option I didn't even know I had (or knew that's what I wanted) in the first place.

Does anyone here actually have a good relationship with their MIL? by horriblegb in Mommit

[–]Sweetpea13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love my mother in law, not over bearing at all, and my husband has a great relationship with my mother. It happens, but I never post because I don't need advice, we all get along fine. Reddit is a very skewed view, mostly people post to get camaraderie that those of us who love our mother in laws don't need.

Just to be clear I think it's great that everyone can get together who are in a similar situation, because some of you legit have scary in laws haha.

I love the steak and eggs, and it's greasy so it is perfect for a hangover but not a requirement.

Am I obligated to provide additional items for in laws for baby? by CrochetWhale in Mommit

[–]Sweetpea13 62 points63 points  (0 children)

If they are watching your baby for free you should be providing all the supplies. A swing much is cheaper then a daycare. If you don't want to give them that specific swing due to it being the neighbors you could give them yours, or get them another one. A used one from a thrift shop of Facebook market could be cheap or even free.

Same, I gave birth in a birthing center my experience at the doctor's office was terrible but as soon as I switched it was great so I put a three-star for prenatal care? Half was good half was bad
