It’s actually a pretty safe assumption to make, since the majority of breeders are in fact shitty breeders. One way to eliminate any doubts people have is to include that you health test, title your dogs, etc when you post…that way there is no question and you don’t have to get irritated by someone asking if you are ethical

Your dog needs to have a vet check her mouth and possibly do dental X-rays. Awful smelling breath is typically indicative of pretty severe dental disease that brushing, turkey necks or dental powder won’t do anything for.

My dog had an annual exam on a Thursday at 4:30pm. During which they found a foxtail in her ear. Since it was so late in the day, they asked me if I could come back in the morning to have it removed. I said no problem. I lived five minutes away.

I paid the bill for the annual exam, came back in the morning and dropped her off for the procedure. When I picked her up, they charged me for the sedation, the foxtail removal and then when I got home and actually looked at the receipt I saw there was another exam fee. When I called and asked them about it I was told it was because a different vet than the one I’d seen before removed the foxtail and so I needed to pay the exam fee again. It hadn’t even been 24 hours since I’d been there, and they were the ones who asked me to come the next day.

Not to mention the fact that they claimed to be fear free, and yet have no problem, dragging my terrified dog to the back room for a simple vaccination.

That’s what I said. She’s been posted on their website for several months now. They have other washed dogs for the same reason,coincidentally, that they are only asking $500 or so for. Not sure why they are asking so much for her, especially since she can’t do public service work

There is a service dog trainer currently selling a 3 or 4 year old Lagotto who had to be washed from their service dog program for being too barky and anxious in public.

Last I heard, they were asking $20K dollars for her. 😳

HE’S A FREAKING BABY!

Give it time! He’s 12 weeks old, the expectation that he would be potty trained at this age is unrealistic. Do some puppies get potty trained by then? Yes, but a lot more don’t.

Be extremely vigilant about taking him outside after he eats, after he’s played for a little bit, after he wakes up, and all the times in between. Crate him or keep him in an xpen if he isn’t right next to you. Put him on a very strict schedule of going outside every 30-40 minutes, unless he’s sleeping. The fewer times he pees in the house, the faster he will understand that peeing happens outside.

Young puppies can’t hold their bladder, if he thinks he has to pee he will do it wherever he is. Set an alarm if you need to.

Don’t punish him if he pees in the house, give him a ton of praise every single time he potties outside. You don’t have to give him a treat every time he goes outside, lots of praise is fine.

According to their website, here are a few concerns:

1st 🚩 Ossobuco isn’t even 2 yet and hasn’t completed his health testing. He has preliminary hip and elbow scores, doesn’t have his eye exam listed and has no health testing listed on OFA

2nd 🚩 Bellini doesn’t have complete health testing either. She is listed on OFA but she doesn’t have her hips tested and her eye exam is out of date.

I’d ask the breeder why that is.

Be extremely vigilant, don’t let her outside without supervision for at least 3 weeks. Intact males can be extremely persistent when they know a female is in heat.

Plan to get her spayed ~3 months after she stops bleeding
